  1. Thumbnails not generated in OneDrive folders anymore

OneDrive on Windows 10 no longer generates file thumbnails in picture folders. I've tried a dozen fixes, so it is directly related to the OneDrive App and Windows 10. Windows 7 is actually working fine with the same files and OneDrive folders. So there is a recent Windows 10 Update that has disabled the ability for Windows 10 to build a successful thumbnail cache. This is happening on multiple machines but only Windows 10 and not Windows 7.

  2. Files On-Demand status icons not working correctly

The Files On-Demand syncing seems to be working correctly, but the status icons displayed are often inaccurate.

Most often it will show 'Sync pending' when OneDrive in the notification area says it's 'Up to date', even when every file/folder inside that folder is showing the same status.

Another instance is the status will show as 'Available on this device', but right-clicking the folder will correctly show a check mark next to 'Always keep on this device' on the right-click menu.

Lastly, I'm not sure if this is intended, but I set one folder as 'Always keep on this device' and…

  3. CPU usage is very high with 10.14 Mojave beta

OneDrive app 18.091.0506.0007 with MacOS 10.14 beta 18A326g on MacBook Pro ... I have noticed that the OneDrive app when started on boot pulls significant CPU time as well as associated energy usage (fan runs continuously). This draw continues after OneDrive completes initial sync. If I quite the app and then restart app, CPU and energy usage drops to a couple of percent which is what I observe with macOS 10.3.5 on my iMac.

  4. Add Back .txt Text Editor Option

On OneDrive.com, add back the option to edit text files. Starting around 12/20/17, the option to Open and edit a text file by right clicking disappeared.

However, it's possible to get back to the editor by using part of the link below.

    https://onedrive.live.com/?v=TextFileEditor

Please fix this bug as this is a key functionality to edit simple text files.

  5. Please fix MIcrosoft update bug...

OneDrive creates a temp file called aria-debugger. It's huge...40 g bytes, and keeps growing, grabbing all the free space on the hard drive.

  7. On-Demand files: invalid ms-dos function

Before on-demand files was synchronization ok.
I have junction directory link in OneDrive folder to second hard-drive folder. The files are marked with syncing arrows, but they are not syncing. When I select file and choose "Always keep on this device", it shows "Invalid MS-DOS function" message.

  8. Duplicates created when opening documents (iOS)

Offine-avaliable files opened while online and causes the iOS app do display a duplicate file that can not be deleted, opened or changed.

This happens every time an offline-available document is opened, edited and closed. These files can not be deleted, marked or edited in any way. Only way to remove these duplicates is to reinstall the OneDrive app, it is not solved with deleting cache.

The original can still be edited but new duplicates are created upon closing/uploading the changes. These duplicates only exist on the device (does not appear in sharepoint or other devices) and i suspect these…

  14. SVN issues with on demand sync

With the new client on fall creators update (the one with on demand sync) basically no SVN clients I've tried can see that a svn versioned folder is actually versioned.

VS can, but them it has it own share of problems not opening some files inside a onedrive folder (when on demand is active).

Even if I chose to make the folder always synced it makes no difference. The only think I tried that solved the problem was deactivating on demand syncing from the client altogether.

For now I've had problems with Visual Studio and SVN clients opening files from…

  15. Fix the "Sorry, OneDrive can't add your folder right now" error message to say what the problem really is

Certain problems within the OneDrive client result in the error message "Sorry, OneDrive can't add your folder right now". Below this, it says "Please contact support".

I have had this message and contacted Microsoft Support, who were completely unable to help at all. The error message is very poor, as it does not adequately describe what the conditions are that are preventing OneDrive from adding a folder to be synchronised. The error message should inform the user why the folder cannot be added and provide a link to a help page to assist in resolving the problem.

    See https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_onedrivefb-mso_win10/sharepoint-folder-onedrive-next-generation-sync/a1f46b54-1d90-4278-adae-dc1825e9864a for…

  16. Payment UX

Current: if there is a payment problem e.g. I changed my credit card number, then OneDrive just silently cancels my account, and my OneDrive shows up as full. I wasted an hour deleting excess files until I noticed that 'full' happened because I suddenly dropped to 5GB.

Requested: A UX notification that the problem is actually my payment card. Nearly everyone will roll their credit cards every few years, so this is going to happen to a LOT of users.

  18. Fix incorrect calculation of remaining free space when using Symbolic Links

Creating a SymLink in the local OneDrive folder to another drive may incorrectly disable the "OK" button in the selective folder sync dialog. Reason: the calculated remaining free space on the local drive (used for the OneDrive folder) is incorrect.

    Example:
Drive C (size 200 GB, 150 GB free) contains the OneDrive folder which contains a Symbolic Link to D:\syncme
Drive D (size 1000 GB) contains 300 GB content in D:\syncme
=> The remaining free space on C is being calculated as -150 GB (or less), i.e. the OK button cannot be selected, even though there is still free space…

  19. Remove function that open in office applications when offline as it is not possible. (iOS)

One way to work with office files like excel, word etc on iOS is to choose open in another app and then save it locally for editing. Another option is to open the file in the application before you loose the connection, but that just introduces a whole lot of other problems when the office application crashes and you risk loosing your work.

When selecting an offline-available office-file while offline, it opens the appropriate office application. The office application then tells me that I have to be online to open it, even just to view. This is confusing and causes…
