create anonymous guest links on the folder just like files in OD4B
For files you can create anonymous guest links on the file and set it to be view/edit and require sign-in or not but you can't for a folder.
In the consumer version of OneDrive you can do this on folders. Please make this available in OD4B. This is a huge missing feature that may cause us to go back to Dropbox.
Thanks for the suggestion. You can now create anonymous links to folders in OneDrive and SharePoint. Admins can also control whether anonymous links are available to users within the tenant.
I am shocked Onedrive for business can't share a folder anonymously. We had an internal discussion about file sharing solutions and I threw onedrive for business on the table because we own it, I look like an idiot because it has this ridiculous limitation... this is not ready for prime time for business... looking into Dropbox & Box....Get with it MS please!
We are moving away from OneDrive once and for all.. It took look to implement that basic feature ...
Dropbox is the one software to go with...

Not seen enough motivation from the dev team that they are working towards this. Sadly, my organisation will be moving to G Suite at the end of this billing period. This was a basic feature.
It is October 2016.
All these features are still not available.
This is ******** ****.
1. Cannot share folder using link. Microsoft is forcing everyone to have a Microsoft account
2. PDF documents - No matter it is being shared with view only or edit permission, PDF will be downloaded to local copy. This is a security breached.

Agreed - an ETA on this would be fantastic... we have run into situations many times with our vendors and stakeholders where we need to share files and documents - and end up doing it in DropBox because we can't expect third parties to have Microsoft accounts - or worse yet - licenses to O365.
We can share folders for view only in 'free' OneDrive - once again - the paid version of a MS product is LESS feature-rich than the one people use for free.
I will never understand this model... and it is pervasive.

Any new on when this will be available? We just moved to O365 and I introduced OD for Business and users are trying it and now getting frustrated because our clients do NOT want to have to create a MS account to access when other solutions don't require this.
OP here again. @Douglas Pearce any ETA for us? I have full departments switching back to Dropbox due to this feature.

It already works - 2 options - either create read-only anonymous link or edit anonymous link to Onedrive for business stored file..
This is September - where is this feature?
Any updates?.... its such a showstopper...
I moved from dropbox using Ofice 365 plan just today.
Tried to share a folder with pictures with our team and what happened ? it is not possible...
I might move back to Dropbox.... MS has time until the end of the cancellation period!....
OP here. Any updates on this? 600+ votes and 30 comments. Can someone update us on the status of this?
any news on this? highly needed feature!
Microsoft say that is for save another docs in the folder,
i think all Business People can decide it self about the folder save.
Push pleas for the feautre
This is such an important feature, so simple, yet M$ drops the ball!!

Need ETA please

Please add this ASAP. Showstopper for us.
Whats the bullsh*t it is ?
I cannot share files with others from Desktop application of OneDrive like Dropbox.
Others cannot download the files unless they login in Microsoft account. Does microsoft think everyone will posses M$ account (either it can be personal), come on this is business, why you are insisting others to create MS account to get files from us ? ( I am afraid they will be bothered of signing in seperately).
Disappointed O365 User.
This is very important feature for us.!
