Make OneDrive for Business work like generic storage.
My company is in the process of transitioning to O365 and Exchange Online and have started with ODfB. This is intended to replace our current PC backup solution and file sharing solution. Users currently get a daily backup of any selected files and directories, with nice default settings. We also have a cloud file sharing solution which is, shall we say not too impressive, but it usually works.
Now, what I discovered is that when moving to ODfB I cannot name files what I want, I cannot have an arbitrarily nested folder structure, I cannot store all file types - and "open" files cannot be stored, so instead of having one backed up location for all things on my disk I will now need two, and add a personal backup procedure for the non-ODfB files since our backup solution is going to be retired soon after the introduction of ODfB.
So we need ODfB to work like generic storage with no SharePoint-imposed limitations! I couldn't care less about the cooperation features and I have so far never worked with anyone who uses them, the important thing is (shared) storage, not cooperation.
Nice Information but currently I'm usind Ahsay software for backup. Ahsay Backup Software is a robust cross-platform backup solution which allows businesses and managed backup service providers to backup virtual machines, databases and servers to local / mapped network drive, locally hosted backup server, or online backup server hosted in datacenter. Thanks
