Allow us to retrospectively add referred users for the referral bonus (alternate to an extended promotion)
So I created a suggestion that was gaining a lot of traction, only to get shot down by Mr. Pearce... Closed so nobody could vote any further. I bet we would have been close to 1000 votes by now with it exponentially growing. (See link below for the original thread). Based on Microsoft’s response to my closed suggestion, my last day as a Microsoft account user for Outlook and OneDrive are nearing to an end. If nothing is done to my account by the time my account is downgraded (7/16), I will be unfortunately switching to Google Drive. I already bought an S7 (using OneDrive temporarily) and will have to setup my Google Drive relatively soon.
My final proposal for all your "biggest fans" (which is the exact term used by Mr. Pearce in the “Give us back our Storage” thread) who were treated with no respect during this entire process, is to allow us to retrospectively add email accounts of the users we referred to OneDrive so we can increase our "Referral Bonus" storage to the 10 gigs. Back when I referred my family and my girlfriends family (total of 7 people), in addition to other various friends (4 come to mind), I had no motivation to sign up for Referral Bonus storage since you put me at over 30 gigs. Now that you are putting me at 5 gigs, I would have formally referred every single one of those users.
Microsoft… If you want to keep me as one of your “biggest fans”, re-open the promotion from January. If you want to keep me as just a fan, implement my idea above. If you want to lose me and countless other “ex-Biggest Fans”, do nothing. Choice is yours.
Thanks for the suggestion, Wesley. This isn’t something we’re exploring right now. And, again, we’re very sorry for the frustration this change has caused.
No im not interested i do not want A SUBSCRIPTION TO OFFICE 365 IT IS IN MY OPINION A WASTE OF A PROGRAM I BOUGHT MY LUMIA AS IT CAME WITH 15GB CAMERA ROLL SO I EXPECT TO KEEP THAT AND YES IM ONLY USING 1 GB AS IVE MOVED EVERYTHING FROM MY ONE DRIVE AS AN EMAIL YOU SENT SAID IT WILL BE DELETED BY THE DATE YOUR TAKING OUR FREE STORAGE OFF US AND I DIDNT WANT TO LOOSE MY PICTURES OF MY DAUGHTER WHO SADLY DIED FEW YEARS AGO ITS A DISGRACE AND AS OF THIS I WILL NO LONGER BUY LUMIA OR ANY MICROSOFT PRODUCT AND I WILL BLOG MY DISGUST TO ALL 30 THOUSAND FOLLOWERS I HAVE EVERY DAY AND INSIST THEY REBLOG THIS DISGUSTING SERVICE i get 1tb of storage free with my broadband so your offer is a joke all i wanted was to keep my 30gb so i have the space when im out and about to take pictures but no you went behind everyones back setting a date noone new about to opt in to keep basically making my lumia phone useless as it needed one drive to back up and temp store pics as its own memory just isnt enough so stick it ill be going to look at Android or Apple
Trust and loyalty is earned, Microsoft and through this move you are losing a LOT of customer loyalty!! Not a single SMS or email notification was sent in December to notify OneDrive users about the proposed change to the storage limits and so many of us did not have the opportunity to "opt-in" to the offer that they gave for such a ridiculously short period of time. This is a blatant violation of point 4c of the Microsoft Service Agreements which states "When there’s something important to tell you about a Service you use, we’ll send you Service notifications to the email associated with your Microsoft account or, for Skype notifications, your Skype account." Did you not consider a change of storage limit from 30Gb to 5Gb to be something important we need to know about??? I have always been a loyal Windows Phone user and Windows 10 user, but this move by Microsoft of removing the camera roll bonus and severely reducing the storage limit that was previously given to OneDrive users verges on unethical and I do not see how I can continue to support Microsoft considering these shameful business practices.Such a shame too as i love my lumia but without the onedrive storage for backups and camera roll one of the main reasons i went for lumia i may as well join the wife and go Android as i do use my Lumia for thousands of pictures and video i was just about managing on 30gb now its dropping to 5gb why even bother and no the offer of 1tb with office 365 isnt an option for me as i dont want or need office 365 or the expense of it when offer expires and going out of my way to remove the OneDrive integration with Win10. Shocking that MS isn't slapped with another antitrust lawsuit for OneDrive integration. I cannot uninstall it. It's integrated with many components that come stock in Win10

I am the global escalations lead for OneDrive. I understand your dissatisfaction with the changes that are coming. As there was no actual change taking place on peoples accounts back in December when the Opt In portal was active no notifications were sent out. We can however provide you with the offer for 1 years of Office 365 which will provide you with 1TB of OneDrive Storage. You currently only use 1GB of the 30 available to you, normally we only offer around 20GB of storage for 1 year in this situation. However I can gladly offer you the Office 365 personal for a year.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide you with the previous promotion. However, we do want to help, and we can provide you with a free year of Office 365 Personal. It comes with 1TB of OneDrive space and is normally $69.99 per year.
Let us know if this is something that you would be interested in.
what a joke never just give back my free storage
Why on Earth would I refer anyone to OneDrive, when they change storage limits with no notification what so ever!? Yea right, clearing out my OneDrive and moving somewhere else. Thanks Mr. Pearce for ignoring again your unhappy customers...

It was a limited supply , which ended in January, but I see most was not informed and only learned later that the offer ended . I find it very unfair , not to say dishonest, by the MS . We should have received a statement at the time of " limited supply " , and not only after there is no more likely to opt for maintaining the 15GB and bonus camera roll . Now the MS is in offering a " handout " 1TB for a year , big ****** this.
GIVE US BACK OUR STORAGE!!!!
And, great, just like that Mr Pearce close another suggestion try to silence their unhappy users. Nice one, Mr Pearce. GIVE US BACK OUR STORAGE!!!!

Another closed topic... Got an email from OneDrive that they are listening to everyone's feedback, yet Douglas closes another suggestion from voting. Wonderful.
Couldn't agree with you more. It's not so much the money to me because I don't us much cloud. It's the fact that the notification of the "Opt in" period for retention of our storage was communicated by blog instead of by Outlook.com email which WAS used to inform us of the downgrade in storage. So this is a PRINCIPAL thing MS. Something MS doesn't seem to understand. By the way MICROSOFT, I'm typing this from my wife's iPad which is feeling more natural all the time.
I am voting on this because voting on Wesley Raider's original suggestion is disabled. I totally disagree with the way the Mr. Pearce shot down and closed the suggestion thereby denying people the option of voting on it. I really hate that fact that MS does not seem to be listening to their users and instead silence them by closing the suggestions that they reconsider their decision.
