Enable long file path for OneDrive for Business
My 1GB of storage part of my Office 365 Business subscription is more or less useless because I get the "File name too long" issue with most of my files.
The following request is now closed as completed but I have voted on it with OneDrive for Business in mind (and I'm sure a lot of other other users did!).
So, OneDrive for Business users, make your voice heard and vote for this!
You can now use much longer paths with OneDrive for Business and Team sites! You can read more about it here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/SharePoint-Blog/New-support-for-and-in-SharePoint-Online-and-OneDrive-for/ba-p/60357. Thanks for the feedback!

This is now being increased to 400 characters. Why 400? You can easily end up with paths longer than 400 characters in OD4B and SP/SPOnline!
This is a huge issue! It needs to handle long file names gracefully and refuse to sync not close the app!
After my microsoft office 2010 was getting a bit old and needing an upgrade I decided to go for the monthly office 365 for business and with it came the 1T one drive storage so I decided to move from google drive to one drive and found that even after two days of syncing none of my data actually synchronised with the servers due to the paths being to long! I have to say I am very disappointed to find this and what a waste of time this has been. Going back to google drive now!
Stop bullshitting us and get it done...
what's the status here? In september a slide from microsoft was published mentioning the feature for H1/2017 (Max path length increase)
but now it's nowhere to be seen on the official roadmap! Can we at least get some form of update?
@MS: please take your customers seriously. Information is key.

Just adding to the many other voices that this file path renders OneDrive useless for my day to day syncing as I frequently go over 255 characters. Apparently it changed to 430 but mine fails on 263 and the docs say 255.
This is still a issue after several years! ALL cloud services EXCEPT onedrive has this huge limit on path length on files. This makes the syncing to STOP working and removes the files from onedrive and you need to reinstall windows again and before you need to remove the files otherwise you will have to repeate the same process again. It's really starts to annoy me SO PLEASE FIX THIS!

@Jason Moore, any updates on the status of this?

I cannot even add a file path that has 180 characters.

So nearly twelve months ago you (supposedly) fixed it for Onedrive for personal use.. but still NOT fixed for business.... pull your finger out!

Come on guys, this is a basic need for every business user. We are not going to adapt to faulty technology and restructure our business standards because of your inability to adapt to the basic needs of practically every user. This is the era in which technology adapts to the needs of the users (customers), not the other way around.
The problem has been here at least since 2014 (https://onedrive.uservoice.com/forums/262982-onedrive/suggestions/6325774-enable-long-file-paths-aka-file-name-too-long-p).
Now that's what I call a quick problem solving... Are you still living in the 1990s? It's a pretty shameful display for such a company.
You are literally forcing your users to use alternative products. Start doing something to earn the money you get from your users, or they will get their products elsewhere.

Work harder please! This is preventing us to move from Dropbox, how can this not work already...?
Still can't believe this is an issue, and Microsoft hasn't commented since last year! This is supposed to be a uservoice .. pay attention to what people actually need!
Hi Jason, are there any updates on this issue, your last communication was September last year.
Any further information or timescale for a fix would be appreciated.

This is just horrible. How can this be "for business" when it doesn't come close to what business needs. And how can other services have no problem with it but MS comes to market with substandard products? What's next? Floppy disks as MS' new removable storage? Sorry for the sarcasm but ****.

This is also a major problem for my business. Can it please be prioritised.

We switched from Box to One Drive because we "thought" it would make our file system more seamless and easy to use with the Office products but this problem is a HUGE issue!!! Will this get fixed soon or will we have to go back to our previous provider?

This is still a problem. When will you fix this?

So many comments and MS is simply not responding. Just goes to show how much granted they are taking customers for. This ostrich like attitude will one day ruin the company. Mr Nadella, are you listening?
Same issue for me. Have many users unable to migrate to OneDrive until this is supported. It's like a 1990s Windows issue.
