Make Android onedrive pdf viewer better or remove it
Trying to work with pdfs stored on onedrive through the Android app is incredibly frustrating.
There is a giant black bar at the top with nothing other than a back button and a large orange circle for annotation tools. This makes seeing the pdf very hard as these UI elements get in the way.
Also there is no search capability.
Either make this viewer better or remove it so we can use some other android pdf viewer. Actually we should be able to use any other pdf viewer and there is no way to do so currently and this actively hurts the onedrive app as a document storage application.
Thanks for the report and please check out the latest update. It should be much improved!

This is terrible, i just upgraded my onedrive storage at my own cost. Spent hours transfering PDF files to onedrive only to have to download them back to my computer again to be able to view them. This is unacceptable and judging by these comments it has been ignored time and time again. I cannot and shouldnot have to download all my uploaded files to view them. If you open them with word online it turns them into word doc's.
We're almost two years into this issue with no resolution. Please give the ability to open PDF's with another viewer/editor. Figure it out, Microsoft. Google doesn't have these kinds of glaring holes.
It still doesn't allow using, e.g., Xodo to open files.
And if you try to connect another app to OneDrive, OneDrive's required permissions include Access contacts, access friends, access "your info anytime", access phone numbers, access birthday, access contacts.

I want to 114th this. OneDrive's pdf viewer is trying to do too much. I just need OneDrive to function as storage and allow me discretion to use other apps to open and edit my files.
When I 'open in another app' it downloads the file and saves any edits to local storage. What is the point of a cloud drive that saves edits locally?
Google drive handles this well on windows and android. OneDrive only has it figured out for windows.
The PDF Hyperlinks also do not function on the PDF viewer in OneDrive for Android, yet they work fine on the OneDrive desktop AND the OneDrive PDF viewer for iPhone.
Just noticed a similar issue on iOS. Our workflow is now useless due to this problem. I MUST be able to open the original file in another app that has features the markuptool doesn't have. OneDrive essentially destroys my pdf's by flattening annotations and more before sending data to other apps, so opening them in another app or downloading makes no difference. What on earth is the purpose of changing the file when OneDrive has no other misson than delivery? Can I not trust OneDrive to deliver original data?! What about digitally signed documents that MUST be in its original form to be valid further down a workflow? Just opening a pdf with the markup-tool when given write access seems to destoy the file in some cases! This is beyond bad, fix it.
Still can't remove or undo mark ups?
Why can't I undo or erase annotations made on the onedrive's PDF viewer... seems a ridiculous oversight to me.

I still cant highlight in the android pdf editor if the text is not recognized. How do I set onedrive to use zodo editor as the default and allow it to save back to drive?
how do I unblock my Microsoft account from pdf viewer?
trying to use the annotation functions in onedrive PDF viewer, made a mistake and couldnt go back to erase / undo / correct. please add the undo / erase function or the annotation is useless or even damaging to use
I use the WPS office app to view and highlight pdfs in OneDrive. It is able to link to OneDrive.

OK, a giant sticking top bar is now gone and open with another app is back as of the last update. Thx MS.
They fixed it with latest Android update!
Urgend, please fix this bug. Makes onedrive useless for me.
It must be fixed!
What a step backwards. Very limited PDF reader now
Please add back the option "open with". In the meantime, I moved my files to Google Drive, otherwise I cannot work any more.
