I would not use OneDrive, if I had not to use it for college. But it's a pain since the app does not run on macOS (except for creating a new partition just for One Drive). No standard user is willing and able to do this. And OneDrive is no complicated application for rendering 3D video or heavy calculations, it's just a sync service... so please please update it

I completely agree to this. "Case preserving file system" sounds like a reasonable choice, but actually it looses information compared to the case sensitive filesystems. Its not preserving at all.
If something should have been excluded from the compatibility list for onedrive, then its surely the case preserving filesystems.

This is an issue reported since 2015. Microsoft dodges this issue and it seems they will continue this way. ALL Clouds services supports this future except OneDrive and Microsoft don't even care.

There is no technical reason to force users to reformat their drive to use one app (cause you don't allow syncing to an external drive or disk volume either). This can be handled gracefully when syncing file-by-file and detecting a collision. The most recent file with same name can be left unsynced and cause an error message in logs.
