Files On-Demand status icons not working correctly
The Files On-Demand syncing seems to be working correctly, but the status icons displayed are often inaccurate.
Most often it will show 'Sync pending' when OneDrive in the notification area says it's 'Up to date', even when every file/folder inside that folder is showing the same status.
Another instance is the status will show as 'Available on this device', but right-clicking the folder will correctly show a check mark next to 'Always keep on this device' on the right-click menu.
Lastly, I'm not sure if this is intended, but I set one folder as 'Always keep on this device' and then inside I chose one (old) folder and told it to 'Free up space'. I was expecting the main folder to lose the checkmark for 'Always keep on this device', just as the subfolder lost its checkmark, but the main folder still has the checkmark on the right-click menu.

Two and a half years later, still the same issue.
Sometimes I'm just amazed with how big companies can allow a bug like this to go unsolved for so long. An average coder can probably fix this in a couple of hours.

I'm having the same issue where I have marked all my files in onedrive to always keep on this device, yet frequently different folders are indicated with the checkmark in an unfilled circle. Sometimes I can correct this by removing the always keep on this device and then putting the always keep on this device back in, but not always. Very frustrating.

Same here, annoys the **** out of me because based on the icon status I just cannot trust if things have synced as intended.

Pretty certain Microsoft can't figure this problem out or the backlash from customers hasn't been large enough to bring this up on their priority list. I have this happening at 2 completely separate organizations so clearly it's an issue and Microsoft knows it.

I am having the same issue, next to useless as I can't be confident what is on my machine and what is in the cloud.

I am seeing this same "sync pending" message when using Files On-Demand, even though all files are synced to the computer.

This OneDrive Files On-Demand icons error problem still exists in build 17763. All files and folders within a folder have synced but the parent folder still shows the "cloud outline" status icon for "Available when online".
What causes this and how can it be fixed?

We are still having this problem, can you please look into it. The status icon is an important part of OneDrive file management, currently this is causing confusion especially in cases where you have a lot of sub-folders

i'm having the same issue and it's not due to files starting with a tilde (~) which you can see when enabling hidden / protected system files.
Some folders have the pending sync icon, yet when going to the subfolders not one file or directory show the pending sync status icon which is rather weird

Why is voting closed? This issue isn't fixed as of Windows Version 10.0.17134.165, OneDrive version 2018 build 18.091.0506.0007
How can we trust OneDrive if iwe don't know which files are synced?

File on Demand is turned on, but I am not able to see the status icons of the files. I have tried on two different PCs - it works on one, but not the other. Both PC's have the Falls Creators update and both have the same version of OneDrive (Version 2018 (Build 18.065.0329.0002) )
