Remove the limit (20,000) of files that can be stored in OneDrive for Business
There is a hard limit of 20,000 files on top of the file size limit. Please remove the # of file limit.
OneDrive for Business now supports syncing over 20,000 files with our our first release of the new OneDrive sync client. You can go read more about it and other updates at our blog post here: https://blogs.office.com/2015/12/16/onedrive-for-business-update-on-storage-plans-and-next-generation-sync-client/
+1 for being caught out by this omission in their advertising and marketing. Not happy about this either and according to Microsoft support, this has come as an unwanted suprise to lots of other business customers.

A simple solution to solve this. Buy dropbox and merge with onedrive

I'm not from Microsoft and I don't know the OneDrive for Business architecture, but I suppose that its engine is different from the OneDrive "personal" as it stores data on a sharepoint database. Maybe also that suddenly opening the full storage to everyone (not just who doesn't sync everything on desktops) expose microsoft to some risk of storage availability in their datacenters...
Anyway, I'm a VAR and I'm suggesting many customers to migrate to Office 365, and this sync limit is really hard to deal with, even in the small business market.
Hope they will find soon a solution... by now, in many cases, I'm forced to suggest other cloud based storage like box.

Ryan, thanks for the "we are listening" reply. Very kind.
I hope you look at this problem in global SP context, that is, you are aware of the 5,000 items limitation per SP Library and are going to solve this as well?
I wrote some words in anger and removed it all. Because they will only post shit answers like this is a complexity. Maybe they need to hire outside, because none of the limitations are applied to other cloud based storages, not even their own OneDrive Personal.

It seems highlighting a link to this page on Tweakers.net helped to get this from 17 votes this morning to 277 now. Lets hope the Onedrive team sees this
The storage limit is 30.000.000 files. The sync limit is 20.000.
The suggestion should be:
"Please remove the OneDrive limit of the total number of files that OneDrive can synchronize (20,000)"

Yeah currently its hard to use Onedrive for backup of my project files as they often have quite a lot of dependancies i cannot simply go without. If you are working with something like NodeJS and use NPM, you might know what i'm talking about.
Also, having lots of photo's can get you to this 20k limit too so you then can't really use it for other stuff.
If there was a way to download files but don't use the sync (as they are not likely to change), that would also be something i could live with.
As also, you have 5000 files limit in common libs. That's quite annoying

I didn't see anything about removing this limit in todays announcement regarding the file size increase. This a major limitation for my clients.
This! Apparently I tried to sync too many files and now my machine is stuck in an endless loop of caching and trying to sync again. My HD is full!
Also the client will download files until the local drive is full.
The current client allows users to drag more than 20,000 files into the OneDrive for Business folder. This causes a lot of problems. There should be some mechanism (pop up window?) that warns users that they have selected too many files to sync.
