Allow online-only file support for Mac OS X Finder
Possible to see all files on OneDrive, but they are not synchronize until they are moved out from the one drive folder or opened.
This will make it easier to use the space on OneDrive without filling the SSD.
Hi, thanks for the suggestion – for this we’d recommend using Selective Sync.

We were considering to move to Office365 and specifically ONEDRIVE for business. but we are sticking with DROPBox.
A key feature that dropbox have is that you can download a file from the team folder online onto your local disk and then once finished with a simple right click you can send it back to the cloud thus releasing the local disk space.
As explained to me by your technician, this is not yet available and delinking ONEdrive from the online team folder keeps a copy of the file on the local disk flder -

Hey guys! Since this post was rejected, I started another one stating why Selective Sync isn't the same thing as online-only file support. Hopefully they don't reject it again this time! https://onedrive.uservoice.com/forums/262982-onedrive/suggestions/32958331-online-only-support-for-mac-os-x

Would be time to implement this right now. Is working great on Windows, and should also be supported on Mac. Will have a huge impact on customer adoption of SharePoint.

I absolutely agree. This is *very* frustrating. This feature is a NO BRAINER. Please implement.

But that's not the same.
If using Selective Sync uploading files from Mac to OneDrive is less comfortable.
I only can upload an rearrange the files online - not really user-friendly. -

I use Dropbox for work and OneDrive at home. Dropbox's 'online only' feature for Mac is *hugely* advantageous.
Many Mac users must be in the same boat here - 1TB of OneDrive storage yet far smaller SSDs on their Macbooks, etc.
Disappointing that this was rejected.

Microsoft- Please implement Online-only for Mac users!
Everything else about the service is great, but this is a must-have feature for me to continue using OneDrive.

selective sync is useless....we need online-only support. If you store your movies on one drive (because you don't have enough storage on your pc) and you want to watch one, you have to go to a webbrowser.. this is totally useless..If this isn't available within the period of my 1 year license, the story stops here for me.

Why is this not yet available on Mac?? this would allow the user to use his files on OneDrive without filling the SSD.

This is a great suggestion. Another great feature would be the ability to sync to an external storage device, currently available on Windows.

Nice feature request! Currently, I'm acessing a remote Windows computer on my LAN which supports this feature, but it's far from being a good solution.

Yes, This function is really really important. Please make it online only function for OS system.

I've also posted something similar. I agree with many of the comments below. The 'offline only' feature would set it apart from the competition.

Please, please, please implement this. I would extend my office subscription for this feature alone.

This os absolutely needed, selective sync isnt an adequate option because we then don't have insight into our complete collection. Also, your system have no user friendly file manager to check for dupes, search in this folder, searvh for this file type, or move files and folder without a large yime investment.

CloudBacko software is the best software for Exchange VM backup. CloudBacko supports both EDB and Mail-level. Easily restore emails, calendars, contacts of individual mailboxes with a few clicks. No need to restore full Exchange Information Store beforehand. Easily browse and select with a Windows File Explorer-like interface. Exchange Server backup pre-requisites checking guarantees restorability. Block level incremental hot backup with zero downtime. Directly restore EDB backup to original database.
