Improve sync quality for OneDrive for Business
I was asked to post my points separately so instead I'll just post the most important one.
OneDrive for Business sucks. Office Document Cache handler is the worst piece of software Microsoft currently endorses. Crashes, sync errors, etc.
Remove OneDrive for Business and replace it with the sync engine from OneDrive personal, which shock actually works. My company has ditched OneDrive for Business in favour of DropBox at great expense due to the awful, awful UX Sharepoint has. Its a shame O365 is tarnished in this way.

We’ve just released our new OneDrive sync client with support for syncing your OneDrive for Business files. It delivers great sync reliability amongst other updates. You can read more about it at our blog here: https://blogs.office.com/2015/12/16/onedrive-for-business-update-on-storage-plans-and-next-generation-sync-client/

We avoid OneDrive for Business (have yet to see it sync without errors) and have all users use the regular OneDrive which works flawlessly. Instructions for migrating out of the garbage version here:

I agree, onedrive for business is one of the worst apps I have used.
Try to sync a large library and it is impossible. Too many files won't sync, even after months trying.Repair option is a joke. It failed saying files are in use. It shows a windows with a list but the window is small and can't be expanded so it is hard to see which files.
I was able to expand the file names column and scroll to the right but it only list folders and not actually files.
But to my surprise all files inside the folders listed are already synced. So the app doesn't let me do repair why? Can't explain. Only option it gives me is "Dismiss".
So I can't sync the failed items nor I can repair.
It will stay in this state infinitely.Honestly, not sure how Microsoft released this. It does not work period.

Given up with ODB after months of time wasting - a POS that has taken up too much of my life. So many errors for what should be a simple activity (well, DropBox makes it simple). So have your 1TB back Microsoft, not much use if a basis sync doesn't work! Back to DropBox!

OneDrive for Business just... sucks.
A Tech support Nightmare. GoDaddy was great to work with; MS was the worst!
Found a bug and no one wants to fix it! After hours on the phone and independent research.. I'm still on hold with MS thanks (Sky and her Supervisor).Go Daddy was actually HELPFUL.
2016-08-26 Go Daddy support/Microsoft/office 365/1 drive/won't sync.Called the local MS store, got India, they said sounds like a ligit. issue and gave me MS Support @ 1800 865 9408 Got Sky on the phone she tried to route me back to Go DADDY for 15 minutes.
After getting no where asked for her supervisor still on hold 40 minutes................ -

OneDrive for Business doesn't include photo sync, so this is NOT replacing OneDrive, so it's not "boom it's done".
Although stability improvements are always good.

It still sucks. As long as you're using the upload center and can't figure out how to resolve conflicting copies of things in the document, you're a POS and not worth the money. Both Box and Dropbox know how to use MS office programs better than you're own utilities. I've never had a problem with their sync systems and Google drive is a few light years ahead on collaboration. Just fix it.

Yes, I can agree with all people here. Even with new update doesn't work properly. Better to use Dropbox or Google Drive. I have never problems with sync.

You mean 'Boom It's toast'. I have had nothing but problems with OneDrive for business. I, personally have 3 desktops/laptops. OneDrive for business on all of them. Was hopefull the new improved sync tool would solve the problem. When connected, it does seem to work much better, but keeping the **** thing connected is another hassle. Password changes cause syncing to get blocked, and the hoops and challenges to get it to start again, due to passwords being stored in various cached locations, solutions range from changing accounts in the File -> Accounts section of Word ?? Who would have thought to look there??!!! To running a command line executing multiple DLLs, etc.. I'm in I.T. How does MS think the lay person is going to handle these things. They aren't. My clients are going to Dropbox due to it's ease of use, out the box. I NEVER hear of Dropbox sync issues or password issues. I have tried to tell my clients OneDrive for Business is more secure, but if it prevents the end user from accessing their files, they don't care about the extra security. Come on Microsoft, get your act together and fix this thing! I manage nearly 200 seats of small business clients. I am not recommending OneDrive for business to any of them.

Here we are again.... this program is still completely useless!
Dropping out of sync and need to download everything from scratch. And as a cherry on the pie, the clients copies out some random files, which it thinks are not synced. Thanks, I have to compare this whole **** to find the differing files. -

This thread is closed but OneDrive for Business is *still* awful a year later... I agree with the "You have failed again" comment below. Forever troubleshooting "Processing changes" with absolutely **** diagnostics. Random files can't download because it's too large or connectivity issues? Basically this is saying "OneDrive for Business" is **** at handling large files. When you click "Open item", it opens the library in SharePoint at the root when most of our libraries have many sub-folders. So you search on "Wang et al 2013.pdf" in SharePoint and it lists lots of other documents as well.

I have to jump in here and agree with this. You guys really need to re-vamp this sync software, i am going back to dropbox now. I have had nothing but problems getting my onedrive for business to stay synced for longer than a couple of days. Endless sync errors, asking me to sign-in over and over, works for a few days after blowing away my cache then it just blows up again. Every time I ask for assistance, I am told to basically uninstall it, clear office cache, delete credentials from windows, blow everything away and re-sync from scratch. Again, works for a bit then "Sync Errors" all over the place. I never have these issues with the exact same files on dropbox or even google drive. Terrible software, endless issues and frustration.

No, you have failed again. The new release still sucks. It has improved, but not enough to make it reliable. Even after the new update, I am still getting far too many sync errors - errors which I have NEVER see from other systems like dropbox.

Worst piece of software I've ever seen - pretty much renders any computer unusable - turn it off - it's ****

Hmm ... doesn't seem to be done. Might want to change the status to "Boom! Just Kidding"

Yep, OneDrive for Business, just plain rubbish. I lost the synch ability when I innocently installed O365's Office 2016. It broke my synch between Sharepoint 2013 online and OneDrive for Business. The Next G synch client - pfft. I'm not going to wade through the published pages of file and registry hacks - seriously? File and registry hacks to make it work WTF. Goodbye ODB, I've had enough!

OneDrive for Business has got to be one of the worst pieces of "enterprise grade" software that I have ever encountered in my life. The sync function is seriously flawed and often the only solution is to delete the local copy of the synced folder and start all over again. And even then there is no guarantee that it will work.
1. OneDrive app reports errors but does not report an information on the errors except the filenames.
2. It beggars belief that the app can sit there and report that it is "processing changes" for hours on end and give no other information on status or time to completion. In fact, once it reaches this state there is no remedy except to delete the local archive and start again.
Microsoft you should be ashamed at yourselves for releasing such a piece of software - this is not a recent issue but has been ongoing for 6+ months. I have wasted hours of my time trying to resolve this problem for clients. Please advise what I should tell them - that this service is rubbish and that they should use Dropbox. Shame on you!!

Twice in four days Sync has failed. This is perhaps the sixth time in 4 months that I've had to spend part of my workday cleaning and syncing and rebooting. Who has time for that!? Not this busy DBA!
Please keep working on those issues. Boom it's NOT done.
