Dear OneDrive, I really need you to support symlinks on Mac!
This can create some very problematic scenarios with sync. Not something we are likely to get to in the near future.
OneDrive is totally useless to me because of this. I bought OneDrive specifically for this feature and now I find out I can't use it. I keep my files in encrypted disk images and it won't let me set them as the target folders cause it's says they're external volumes.

I am strongly considering switching to a different paid solution. Every few months, my symlinks cause issues and I have to re-sync.
This seems to work fine in Dropbox and Sync, for example. I'm not going to change the default OS folders to suit OneDrive.
I am getting Professional Dropbox now, because it lets me use symlinks.

PLEASE. Symlinks are the quite literally (proper use of the word) the one feature that keeps me chained to Gmail and not using OneDrive full time.
implement (or better yet, improve upon) gdrive's Shift+Z and I'd be sold!
Dropbox does it without a problem, what's your excuse other than lack of know-how?
Lack of symlink support is my biggest gripe about OneDrive
It is desperately needed. I believe it works fine with Dropbox. Why not have an option to disable it for the people that have 'problematic scenarios'. You offer 1TB with my 365 subscription, obviously I am not going to have that much data in one subdirectory of onedrive.
Please give us the option!
This is so desperately needed.
This was one of the best features of OneDrive and did not require the user to move thousands of folders and files
Symbolic links do not work on OS X and WE NEED IT!
What problems do you have with symlinks? Mine seem to be working on W7 to store at the OneDrive website files not in the OneDrive folder.
I have thousands of files in an existing folder hierarchy. To use OneDrive, I have to rearrange everything. There are also folders I'd like to sync that can't move to the OneDrive folder because then the apps wouldn't be able to find them. I don't have a problem with Dropbox, because it honors symlinks. They don't seem to have a problem.
You seem to assume that 1) I just bought my first computer, 2) I don't have many files, 2) I don't want to use any existing folders on my computer, and 3) I don't mind putting everything in your special folder. These are all false assumptions. I bought my first computer 36 years ago, I have accumulated thousands of files, which are neatly filed in a hierarchy of folders, and I don't want to redo everything just to accommodate OneDrive. DropBox doesn't have a problem with Symlinks, so what added value do you offer me over DropBox?
