Really fix Photo background uploading in iOS
I'm running the latest version of OneDrive on iOS 8.3 on an iPhone 6 Plus and this feature doesn't work as intended. Even with background refresh On and the location settings set to Always, I still have to manually open the app for new photos in my Camera Roll to sync to OneDrive. The only thing having Location set to Always gives me is a badge counter of how many photos need to be uploaded. It is never performed automatically. Please fix.
Additionally, I would prefer that automatic photo uploads from my Camera Roll to OneDrive be performed without leveraging Location Services. Letting it run in the background to collect new photos should be adequate.

Thank you for reporting. We are working to address complaints about iOS camera backup, and the best way to get an issue resolved is to submit your ticket through in-app support. This lets us use logs and personal account information to help debug the problem.
Our team will continue to make product reliability a top priority, and we use UserVoice to hear from our community which features you’d like to see the team work on next.

Same issue with my iPhone 6s Plus running iOS 11.2.1 and onedrive 9.8.15. This feature seemed to work when I haven’t moved my files to onedrive however, after uploading 30GB worth of files it stopped working. I created a new account to test and it’s working there but I don’t want to use that new account and still want to use my old account. Please fix this MS.

Same issue here with IPhone 6S IOS 11.1.2 but after a lot of trial and error I discovered by turning off IPhone native iPhoto backup to ICloud. Settings >Photos turn off ICloud photo library then OneDrive camera upload started to work. May not work for other users or you still want to use Icloud but its worth a try :-)

Unbelievable that MS can't fix this issue. I'm seriously thinking to switch to GoogleDrive or Dropbox. I've using OneDrive from it's beginning and it used to be a good product/service but honestly for the last 2 years it's been a pain and almost unusable app. Shame on MS.

I have never seen this feature work, ever. You always have to open the app. I don't even know why this option exists since it doesn't work. I have background app refresh enabled, cell data enabled, all options checked in the OneDrive sync setting for photos, it doesn't matter. Nothing works. Current phone is iPhone 7 Plus on ios 10.3.3, but again, all my phones and iOS versions this has never ever worked.

Actually, my Office 365 account is up for renewal. I think that I am going to pass. That will resolve this issue.

iPhone 6s user all updated and current on software. I pay for OneDrive and it is disappointing. Photo backup only functions while app is open. Phone goes to sleep stops uploads. Using another app stops uploads. There is no "just keep uploading in background" feature which makes the whole sales pitch pointless (or a lie?)
Microsoft was the king of background processing, why can't you guys figure this bit out?

count me in as another user with same problem. My wife just changed from a Samsung Galaxy S5 to an iPhone 7 Plus. I installed OneDrive on her iPhone, and I have it on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I have it set to do the camera upload, and I have enabled all of the features under the Camera upload within the one drive app.
Pictures on the iPhone do not get uploaded to OneDrive unless I launch the one drive app on the phone. This worked flawlessly on my Androids, but not so much on the iOS device. Unsure if this is an Apple issue or an MS issue. But either way, it's not working

I have IPhone 7, with the latest IOS, since 3 weeks (probably after the latest IOS update), onedrive stop uploading the camera shots.
I have removed the stuck file, uninstalled/reinstalled the onedrive app, cleared the cache, restarted the mobile device, no luck. -
