OneDrive Files On-Demand
Allow an online sync only for OneDrive, like Windows 8.1 file explorer did.
Most of PC don't have enough storage to keep files on HDD.
That will really improve productivity !

I’m proud to announce that OneDrive Files On-Demand is now rolling out with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (https://twitter.com/onedrive/status/920288442965164033). Whether you use a personal OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, or SharePoint Online, you can now browse all your files without filling up your disk and take advantage of the rich features of File Explorer. Read more about how you can start using OneDrive Files On-Demand & skip ahead if it hasn’t been rolled out to you yet (https://t.co/YFxsqB3JNb). Learn more about deploying Files On-Demand in your organization (https://t.co/zjAQJnbQlo). Thanks to all of you for the emphatic support, and a special thanks to our incredible self-hosters in the Windows Insider Program!

Would love to see this feature for my Windows Server 2012 R2 Remote Desktop users. Not having it prohibits me from moving the company's shared files to SPO.

I wanted to upload files from my network drive to one drive. Could not do it from web site, because we are talking for thousands of files and many hundreds of gigs. Could not do it from the app, because it uploads only files not folders!!!!
The only solution was to copy them into one drive folder in my pc. But my pc had an ssd with 50 gigs free. So i had to copy 40 gigs, wait to upload, make them offline and then copy the next 40 gigs!!!!
Ok, done with that terrible process.
Recently i did a clean install and wanted to map my full one drive to my pc. But you know what? It says that i have no space. Because there is no option to map them offline at the start. I must manually select folders that are bellow my free limit, then go and mark them offline and then continue the process!!!
Please fix the OBVIOUS flaws of your design!!!!!! -

Are you REALLY going to trust MS with all of your personal files and data stored in their proprietary "OneDrive". Big hard drives are cheap these days (just got a WD 4 TB HDD for under $100. And external big hard drives are almost as affordable. What's going to happen when MS decides to charge even more for storage and you don't want to pay? I trust MS about as much as the SCROTUS... (So Called Ruler of the United States, but I'm not naming names...) AND you can't even post a comment here without giving MS access to your personal information.

Ok OneDrive I now have one more request sometime recently you updated and now on iPhone in OneDrive you see folders but can’t read the full file names making it impossible to utilize effectively and secondly when viewing photos from the file folder you made them so small compared to before you can’t see them to go through them in folders for organizing purposes. I’m forced to go to my laptop or pc because it’s been made so much less viewable in OneDrive for iPhone iPad

Why is it restricted to 1709?
I would like to get Files-on-Demand going in our VDI environment; for obvious reasons. However, the latest OneDrive for Business client (v2018 b18.044.0301.006) only gives you Files On Demand on build 1709 of Windows. No problem, right? Just install upgrade Win 2016 to 1709 ... ROFL ... no GUI in 1709.
This is a huge problem because this feature is crucial for not syncing all of OneDrive (up to 1TB for our users) to a VDI instance that has a 100GB VHD. We could pay for a third-party app to map the drive (or come up with an alternate solution), but Files-on-Demand solves the problem ... it just needs to be made available to the version of Win 2016 that has a GUI. Additionally Files-on-Demand allows us to offer our users a consistent usage of OneDrive regardless of what they may or may not be currently syncing.
I've submitted feedback to Microsoft to please back-port the Files On Demand feature to Windows 2016 1607.

It would be really nice if as part of this feature we could label the folder as online only directyle in OneDrive (online). This would have the effect of allowing us to push files to the directly but not have them downloaded to computers automatically. I currently hae my IPhone setup to backup photos to oneDrive, however the photos are being automatically downloaded to my computer.

Crazy to update windows 10 in enterprise !
One drive must be an std application (like google drive, ...) and not an OS application !
The onsite's file server win some more time to live ;) -
