Remove the check marks for synced files
Remove the check mark for synced files. It should be blank when synced, not a check mark like in this photo. This is from Windows 10, the looks of synced files like windows 8 (without the check marks) is what I want.
Thanks for the suggestion. Just being transparent that we’re unlikely to change the model in the near future.
Agreed. It's very annoying in Windows 10 to have the green icons over every file - it's very difficult to see what the actual icon underneath is, and therefore what file type it is. I depend on seeing the icons to determine the file type.
I'd prefer to have the blue icon showing when a file or folder is syncing, but then no icon at all after the file/folder has finished syncing. Like it was with Windows 8. That is much more user-friendly.
I hate the green checkmarks especially on the smallest file icons. It obscures them and makes it hard to find file types visually. I don't mind if there's a special icon when not synched, but let's get rid of the green checkmarks.
I am using Windows 10 enterprise evaluation edition.
Previously on windows 8.1, there was no green check mark on folders being synced by Onedrive, and there was a blue syncing mark only on folders not yet synced by Onedrive, which was acceptable.
After upgrading to Windows 10, all icons of folders being synced by Onedrive has ANNOYING green check mark, and I couldn't find an option to manage this.
I was able to get rid of them by deleting every onedrive-related key in below registry addresses:
But after I remove those, Onedrive asks for a permission to install itself, and if I allow it, those keys appear again, so I am currently not allowing Onedrive to do this.
For me, Windows 10's design is pretty appealing, but I can't still trust designers in Microsoft unlike Apple, so I devote a lot of time customizing appearances.
Please indicate if there is an option to do this without destructive means. I would like to do this by all means.
