Give us back our storage
Recently, a blog post was announced detailing that you would be reducing our free and paid storage. Only 1TB for Office 365 customers, and only 5 GB for free customers. I have been a long-time OneDrive fan, but after this upgrade I can no longer recommend it as my promised storage has been taken away. Some of us actually store a normal amount of stuff in OneDrive. Why makes us pay for those who went over the top?
In November we made a business decision to reduce storage limits for OneDrive. Since then, we’ve heard clearly from our Windows and OneDrive fans about the frustration and disappointment we have caused. We realize the announcement came across as blaming customers for using our product. For this, we are truly sorry and would like to apologize to the community.
While we are not changing our overall plans, we’d like to clarify what we are doing for customers impacted by the changes and share a new offer which we hope will go a long way in making the situation better for our biggest fans.
Office 365 Home, Personal, and University subscriptions will continue to include 1 TB of storage. Any subscriber who received additional storage as part of our unlimited offer will keep it for at least 12 months. For anyone unhappy with the decision to not offer unlimited storage, we will offer a full refund.
For customers of our free service who have over 5 GB of content and who are directly impacted by the storage change, we will offer one free year of Office 365 Personal, which includes 1 TB of storage. These customers will receive an email with redemption information early next year.
In addition, for our biggest fans who have been loyal advocates for OneDrive, we are adding a new offer that lets you keep your existing 15 GB of free storage when the changes happen next year. If you also have the 15 GB camera roll bonus, you’ll be able to keep that as well. From now until the end of January, you can sign up to keep your storage at the link below.
We are all genuinely sorry for the frustration this decision has caused and for the way it was communicated. Thank you for sticking with us.
Why should anyone buy Lumia devices then? 5GB of cloud storage, are you kidding me? Get yourselves together, Microsoft, because you all are slowly killing the last remnants of Windows Mobile fanbase. Whoever made this stupid decision deserves to be fired ASAP. Things can only go downhill from here.
Are you crazy ? You want MS go to die ?
If this news is true, I will leave MS service and device for ever !
This is why I NEVER recommend any Microsoft services and/or hardware/software. Impeach Nadella!

If the problem is users abusing the unlimited storage, then just get rid of unlimited! Don't cut the rest of us down. Let me love you, Microsoft. Please.
And for the record, I am an Office365 subscriber who actually is fine with a 1TB limit. There has to be a limit to protect against those who abuse the service (75TB WTF?!?!). But I don't think it's right to punish others for the actions of a few. Just put a cap on THEIR storage space.
No point being loyal to Lumia and MS,and they proved it
If this will happen, I`ll stop using OneDrive and overthink why I use MS services and products. Maybe switch to Google, simply because they care more about their users and they don`t do stupid things like that.
But as they advertised the Lumias with free cloud storage I doubt they can simply cut this off, it was a part of the product i bought.
and what about the Loyalty bonus
The 15 GB camera roll storage bonus will also be discontinued. this is the end for windowsmobile and Lumias
With no unlimited camera storage I can no longer suggest to anyone that Onedrive is a good idea. My camera roll over the last few years is bigger than 5gb. To bad google does not have a google drive app for windows phone. Going to make me rethink what phone ill be getting next. keeping my pictures safe in the cloud was one feature I cannot live without.
What point is uploading your music to groove when you only have 5gb of storage. Even if I pay for groove that wont go up.
Microsoft has given people another reason not to use Windows phone.

All my life I was windows fan and every electronic that I have is from MS or has windows 10 on it! I'M DONE! F.... THIS BS!
This just show us how you don't care about us.
Just use and kill it later.
I just got the band 2, and I was waiting for the 950 XL to replace my lumia 1020.
To hell with my Xbox one, band 2, lumia 1020, my surface pro 3, my surface pro 2, my laptop for work.
I will find something else to work and leave with.
The new LG phones and google services are there and they are great.
Many users including myself use onedrive because of the free storage you get as a bonus when using bing or an windows mobile device...why should we still use OneDrive when you only get 5gb of free storage !? This was a major selling point for lumia devices....and the offers for 100 / 200 gb are gone too !?? 50 gb for the same price....are you kidding me !?? That is a ridiculous move and I'm seriously considering of canceling my lumia 950 xl order and selling my lumia 1520 for an iphone with Dropbox or something else...hope you backtrail on this dumb move and keep it as is and cap the users that abuse the platform....
JUST in time I was going to buy a Lumia, NO MORE! moving my domain+files to google!
How can Microsoft think to be competitive with just 5GB for free and the 50GB für $2 package? And, you ruin your customers trust in your cloud services with breaking promises this way. Please change your minds, really! And, I say this as a long-year customer of consumer, business an expensive server products, azure and also as MSFT shareholder. This is a major, serious mistake!
Yup, this is not a good move. Though I really like the products and services of Microsoft, somehow their marketing & sales tend to screw things over... like stripping the USP of OneDrive.
I've just finished ordering my new Android phone. So long Lumia!
Joke of the year. So disappointing. Seriously in disbelief right now. I actually feel bad that I recommended people to OneDrive. What a Joke.
15 x15 was the reason I held on to this 920 while waiting on the 950. I've got the upgrade and the path of least resistance would be google. Fix this or that's the way in going.
Microsoft giveth... then Microsoft taketh away?? Why don't you simply say "take your cloud storage needs elsewhere!" There is enough free storage through other provider that I wouldn't pay for yours unless forced to. I already have other options I'm not using but will gladly switch to.
OneDrive team, are you drunk? punish the abusers who you admit are using 14000 times more than the average users!! You know who they are but you harm everyone else with collateral damage.
Limit the storage to 1 TB per user and make those who want to exceed 1 TB pay a fee. Dropping down to 5 GB hurts most of the users that are heavily integrated in the Windows ecosystem.
Rethink this decision Microsoft.
