Give us back our storage
Recently, a blog post was announced detailing that you would be reducing our free and paid storage. Only 1TB for Office 365 customers, and only 5 GB for free customers. I have been a long-time OneDrive fan, but after this upgrade I can no longer recommend it as my promised storage has been taken away. Some of us actually store a normal amount of stuff in OneDrive. Why makes us pay for those who went over the top?

In November we made a business decision to reduce storage limits for OneDrive. Since then, we’ve heard clearly from our Windows and OneDrive fans about the frustration and disappointment we have caused. We realize the announcement came across as blaming customers for using our product. For this, we are truly sorry and would like to apologize to the community.
While we are not changing our overall plans, we’d like to clarify what we are doing for customers impacted by the changes and share a new offer which we hope will go a long way in making the situation better for our biggest fans.
Office 365 Home, Personal, and University subscriptions will continue to include 1 TB of storage. Any subscriber who received additional storage as part of our unlimited offer will keep it for at least 12 months. For anyone unhappy with the decision to not offer unlimited storage, we will offer a full refund.
For customers of our free service who have over 5 GB of content and who are directly impacted by the storage change, we will offer one free year of Office 365 Personal, which includes 1 TB of storage. These customers will receive an email with redemption information early next year.
In addition, for our biggest fans who have been loyal advocates for OneDrive, we are adding a new offer that lets you keep your existing 15 GB of free storage when the changes happen next year. If you also have the 15 GB camera roll bonus, you’ll be able to keep that as well. From now until the end of January, you can sign up to keep your storage at the link below.

We are all genuinely sorry for the frustration this decision has caused and for the way it was communicated. Thank you for sticking with us.

Microsoft is the best ever sales agent for Google. I am giving up my account as well as my Windows phone and moving to Android. If you thought this could fly, you deserve to go under simply for being so business clueless.

This is disgusting Microsoft, you should have isolated people abusing it and limited them not give us a pathetic 5gb after selling us in by offering us storage. How can you think taking it back is going to be OK with customers... who ever made this decision should be fired straight away. You have proven to be an untrustworthy brand Microsoft, shame on you.

I cant believe Microsoft would do this,I have always stood up for them. This makes you look like complete Indian givers. Who signed off on this idea? seriously. This is going to have detrimental effects on peoples trust and loyalty to the brand. In a time where maintaining customer satisfaction is so important, while brands like Google and Apple are remaining consistently dominating. Talk about biting off more than you could chew. I say for the sake of your customers you should of bit the bullet and found a way to manage the additional servers, the solution would be to limit any future accounts, but never TAKE AWAY something that was promised. I am still in disbelief. This sends the message that you could care less about your customers. Its a shame there is newcoming brands like MEGA which are offering 50GB free indefinitely, and plans like 200gb for $5 a month. its Sad. Maybe instead of blowing $26.2 billion on LINKEDIN, you could of purchased Mega or another Cloud based storage company to support your struggling servers. All in all I feel this was a bad business move. I never received any email for the 365 as I am sure thousands ot millions of others haven't either.I feel it wasn't even announced until the offer wasnt being offered anymore. Isnt anyone over at Microsoft handling damage control? I mean when some clown suggested this cutback, didn't anyone think of the massive damage it was going to do to the Brand as a whole? There are so many other solutions that could of been instated. How about advertisements added to the Free accounts to support the additional maintenance. I would much rather deal with the Ads over feeling like I was lied too. Very disappointed in Microsoft.

Thanks for the short signup window! To be fair, as this was so LAMELY publicized, it should be EXTENDED! Announcing we can keep our free storage, but need to ask for it within a MONTH (sounds like OBAMACARE! "If you like your old insurance, you can keep it!") is a JOKE!

Sign the petition people if you are upset with how Microsoft is dealing with their users. Let your voice be heard! Microsoft relented and gave that offer only because people voiced their dissatisfaction. Those of us that only heard about the changes now are just as angry about this, so let Microsoft know otherwise they will just continue to ignore us.

I am not writing a big text , since it's pointless. I'm quitting ALL Microsoft services right away , and I'm not taking the "shut up offer" for office 365 free for one year. What after that? Pay for a service I don't need only to keep the onedrive storage? Ridiculous. Hopefully you lost a bunch of customers before you realize the huge mistake you got yourself into. When you do that, it will be too late.

It s completely unbelievable a company such as MS delete files over the reduced 5 Gb limits. I will definitively disregard MS product as you proved you are completely unreliable (cloud storage is about SAVING files, not pretending). BTW, you 15 Gb offer is closed, a pity. Ridiculous.

Well done, Microsoft. You are only hurting yourself with this decision. The question is will Windows Phone be dead by the time you realize your mistake?

Hello. I had renewal on the Promotion till January 31th 2016 that the changes don´t take affect to my account. The System of Microsoft don´t record my renewal for the promotion but I get the Windows where Microsoft says that the changes don´t affect to my account!
I write to the onedrive support and the people there don´t want make a solution for me. Only that I can renewal for a free office 365 for a year. But I want a solution for space which will be take affect for an unlimited time period. The renewal for free office have a time limit for only one year and this is a very very bad offer. Microsoft only want to buy back the bonus space which was for a unlimited time with this offer.
"Dear People from Microsoft. I am very sad because I renewal your offer that I can keep my bonus space. It is not my fault when your system don´t register me. I want that you FIX THIS PROBLEM in my Onedrive account before my office 365 ends at June 9th 2016 because after this date the Bonus space is away from my account."
I am a customer for a very long time and never I get a problem with Microsoft! I want that Microsoft will understand that all people will go away from service from microsoft when they make customers sad. Microsoft are only can live when all customers will be glad with the service.
Dear Microsoft. In the past your service was very fine in all time periods. But now with that what you do with the customer with onedrive you make your service very bad. All customers are sad about this.
Please give back my free bonus space with unlimited time period.
