Enable long file path for OneDrive for Business
My 1GB of storage part of my Office 365 Business subscription is more or less useless because I get the "File name too long" issue with most of my files.
The following request is now closed as completed but I have voted on it with OneDrive for Business in mind (and I'm sure a lot of other other users did!).
So, OneDrive for Business users, make your voice heard and vote for this!
You can now use much longer paths with OneDrive for Business and Team sites! You can read more about it here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/SharePoint-Blog/New-support-for-and-in-SharePoint-Online-and-OneDrive-for/ba-p/60357. Thanks for the feedback!

Long path tool is very helpfull
No migration from dropbox until this is resolved. ASAP, please.
Honestly, this is SHOWSTOPPER, leaving us in the middle of a migration from Dropbox to OneDrive. Absolutely ridiculous Microsoft. Awful!

Here is a potential SOLUTION to get you by:
Rather than re-naming all long file paths, you can simply ZIP / Compress folders with long folder names.
Just right click the folder in Windows Explorer or Mac Finder and click "Compress!"
This works very well for me, since I have 1TB of One Drive for Business as a College student free and can use it to backup all my old files. :)
BUT, man... I'd rather 1TB of free Dropbox space, OneDrive applications are a pain to sign in & use!
OneDrive and OneDrive for Business are NOT the same app,
This is still not fixed on OneDrive for Business.
Cant have long file names nor special characters in file names = useless 1TB
Back to Google drive :(
OneDrive and OneDrive for Business are now the same application, so this is probably a non-issue anymore.

is Microsoft really serious about this. We are living in 2016 and not in MS-DOS times where this has been acceptable to some extent ... all others like Dropbox, Box, Google don't have this limitation
no way though are hacker who else would make some password insane

Microsoft is well known to be ignorant! I am not sure if the profit margin you making on your products defines your customer service policies or not, but as the evidence shows we have to think this way.

As we are using One drive for business purpose we are facing lot of issue of 256 character issue.
We want filename greater than 256 characters to be supported and also special characters
Same problem for me.
Seem like my my OneNote for Business still have limitations. I have checked the path of the file which OneNote was highlighting as "too long", and the lenght of the path including filename was - 238 chars. So what is the problem here?
Is there at least a tool to tell me which files are 'over length'? Support call out with MS as this seems to change so often but is not working well.
This needs to be sorted out please.

OneDrive for business is useless until the size limit is increased

This is needed badly. Please support longer filenames and paths for OneDrive for Business
When will this be done? How it works for personal OneDrive and not for business?

This is a sorely missing feature. One of the few things hurting OneDrive for Business.
This is needed badly. Please support longer filenames and paths for OneDrive for Business.
