Allow folders to be shared/co-owned with access/sync the same for all co-owners
You can do this with competing consumer cloud storage systems. OneDrive should offer that functionality as well.
Users would be able to add shared folders to their own OneDrive, syncing the folders on their computer like any other OneDrive folders.
Hi all -
I’m excited to let you know that we’ve begun rolling out Shared Folder sync on OneDrive. We can’t wait for you to start using it!
How does it work? We have a new action on OneDrive, called “Add to my OneDrive.” Whenever you are using OneDrive on the web, or through the mobile app, you’ll see this when you are browsing content that others have shared with you. Clicking “Add to my OneDrive” will add that folder to your OneDrive. From then on, whenever you browse your OneDrive, you’ll be able to see any of the shared folders you’ve added. And on the sync client, when you select what folders to sync, you’ll see all the shared folders you’ve added. Select the shared folder(s) you want and they’ll immediately begin syncing to your PC or Mac.
We’re rolling this out which takes some time, and of course you may get it before your friend who also wants it (try not to rub it in). Shared Folder sync is available on Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista and MacOS. Windows 8.1 users will need to upgrade to Windows 10 to get this feature. Note that you’ll only be able to sync shared folders where you have Editor permissions.
Let us know how Shared Folders work for you – and go sync those files!
Agreed, this would be very, very useful.
This looks like a dupe of this item - http://onedrive.uservoice.com/forums/262982-general/suggestions/6325866-enable-offline-access-syncing-of-shared-folders-by - so I will merge them.

Just to clarify this - I don't mean the current 'share' links which enables named people to access your account on OneDrive.com - I mean a type of sharing that enables to-device sharing so that the shared files will synchronise to all connected devices and PCs connected to all of the accounts the content is shared to.
This very important feature. I don't even know what else do I need from OneDrive

Looking so much forward to this. As a student this is the single most important feature for sharing files between each other in groups and classes.
can't wait to see this feature added! Now that MS is finally increasing the 2gig file upload limit, this is the only thing left on my wishlist!!

This really should have done years ago and had been promised for more than two years. Microsoft never gave a clear answer to requests. This was so frustrating I and others list faith in the whole of Microsoft. If this is a new start, then that's good for all of us.
Great, the quicker the better for this one. This is currently a major disadvantage for Windows users as compared to competitors such as dropbox.
This is the single biggest reason why I don't use onedrive for my business...I cant give a designer or another developer a shared folder so we can collaborate on the same file structure.
Please knock this out of the park guys

I am ready to pay for more storage in order to share folders with others so they can view and/or edit in File Explorer.
In addition this should really help enhance the functionality of sharing a folder.
