Allow folders to be shared/co-owned with access/sync the same for all co-owners
You can do this with competing consumer cloud storage systems. OneDrive should offer that functionality as well.
Users would be able to add shared folders to their own OneDrive, syncing the folders on their computer like any other OneDrive folders.

Hi all -
I’m excited to let you know that we’ve begun rolling out Shared Folder sync on OneDrive. We can’t wait for you to start using it!
How does it work? We have a new action on OneDrive, called “Add to my OneDrive.” Whenever you are using OneDrive on the web, or through the mobile app, you’ll see this when you are browsing content that others have shared with you. Clicking “Add to my OneDrive” will add that folder to your OneDrive. From then on, whenever you browse your OneDrive, you’ll be able to see any of the shared folders you’ve added. And on the sync client, when you select what folders to sync, you’ll see all the shared folders you’ve added. Select the shared folder(s) you want and they’ll immediately begin syncing to your PC or Mac.
We’re rolling this out which takes some time, and of course you may get it before your friend who also wants it (try not to rub it in). Shared Folder sync is available on Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista and MacOS. Windows 8.1 users will need to upgrade to Windows 10 to get this feature. Note that you’ll only be able to sync shared folders where you have Editor permissions.
Let us know how Shared Folders work for you – and go sync those files!

Microsoft you are way behind the curve (Dropbox Box etc). Make this happen in Onedrive for business. It is insane that this is not yet available.

I jus discovered that OneDrive for Business don't show shared files in my onedrive in explorer. Then i found this that its already implemented, yeay!
But wait... who cares about OneDrive for personal usage?! Its CRITICAL for business use. How paid service can have soo much limitations? This is really huge disappointment.
It should be FIRST implemented in ODFB. And this marketing "new generation ODFB app" - which seems to do nothing more than normal onedrive, except it has more limitations than its precedesor!
I cant understand what insane busines model is behind this. Should companies switch their licenses to personal or something? Its really bad... -

So six months after you rolled it out, we still can't sync like dropbox, google drive etc. They are free and we are paying for this limited feature yet onedrive personal can do it? I have no choice to use OD due to the choices made above me but I cannot work online all the time and need the ability to work offline. This needs to be fixed asap

ODFB desperately needs this. Please add this feature!!!

I was looking vainly for this feature, then looked at some posts that seem to indicate this feature is NOT available in OneDrive for Business. Why not? Who needs to share documents more desperately than business users? Please fix!!

Love it but desperately required in ODFB. Please "share" the function with us there....

We planning to move from google drive to one drive business. But doubt on availability and functioning of this important function is stopping us from doing so. Please let us know if this function is available and working properly. Thanks

Florian... yes I've been trying to find this answer. It is a must have and is steering me away from using OneDrive for Business

Hey Microsoft
When will this finally be available for OneDrive for Business? I cannot sync my shared business folders to disk - which is a killer criteria.
Let me know how to do this.
Thanks

I just got off the phone with a Microsoft Ask Technician to attempt to fix this issue or to locate the button that Jason Moore touted ("Add to my OneDrive") The technician adivsed me that this capability is NOT available for OneDrive for Busines, only personal OneDrive. (He did say there is a workaround for Windows users but not Mac users.
Is it true that you deployed this critical capability for OneDrive personal and not OneDrive for Business? I have I hard time making sense of this. If true, please add it to OneDrive for Business as soon as possible. If the technician was misinformed, please clarify how Mac users such as myself, who use OneDrive for Business, can sync shared files? Screenshots would be helpful.
I do see a button called "Sync", which is the button that produces the error described in my previous comment. I do not see the "Add to my OneDrive" button.

This feature is critical to our business requirements, but it isn't working.
When I browse a folder that a colleague has shared with me, I do see a "Sync" button at the top, and when I click it, a window containing two new buttons "Sync now" and "Get the OneDrive for Business app that is right for me". When I click on "Sync now", I get an error. The error message reads "The address wasn't understood. Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (grvopen) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context. You might need to install other software to open this address."
I already have the Next Generation Sync client for Mac installed (version 17.3.6298). What else do I need to do to be able to sync documents that have been shared with me or with my groups?
Please fix

Just finished the move from Google Drive to Onedrive, very disappointed :( Should I switch back to Google Drive? Will you fix this problem?

I agree with the comment below, why on earth have you not done this for OneDrive for Business. It was one of the reasons we moved over and the feature isn't even available to us. Madness!

When will this be available for One Drive For Business? This is absurd! Paying business users can't use the One Drive business app 100%. Sharing your files or folders is not working! Ridiculous!
