Enable file versioning / history for all types of files (not just Office types)
I know you can recover previous versions of Microsoft Office files in OneDrive. But in Dropbox and Google Drive, you can recover previous versions of any file type (and this has been a long standing feature of these services). Please give us the ability to restore previous versions of any file type in OneDrive.

We are expanding version history support to all file types for OneDrive personal account users. As a result, customers will now be able to restore or download previous versions of all their files for up to 30 days. It will be available to everyone this summer; currently, approximately 10% of OneDrive users can see and interact with this feature.
You can read more about file versioning and how to use it on our blog: https://blogs.office.com/en-us/2017/07/19/expanding-onedrive-version-history-support-file-types
We understand how critical your data is to you. We also understand that threats are continually evolving and that our product must evolve too. This is one of several steps you will see us take in the near future to help protect you and your data.

If this is "super important" then how come that the issue have not been resolved a year after?

As Omar mentioned this is super important. And the importance rises with all the ransomware that is currently spreading. Please implement this fast.

I've been waiting a long time.
I'll back to DropBox. -

MS could limit versioning to a certain size several Megabytes, at least to help on this Ransomware war that we are trying to survive.
This way MS would help everyone on this fight. It makes no sense limiting this service to office files, made more sense limiting on size. -

I have to agree with everything being said here. Version History only on MS documents....simply pathetic.
And to think, I've been recommending to my clients that they dump their expensive DropBox to move to OneDrive. What an idiot I am.

When? The last update from Microsoft was almost a year ago!
I hope versioning will be for both "OneDrive for Business" and regular "OneDrive". Besides the normal reason to look for older versions of files, I am concerned about the "Cryto Virus" issues. Backup is the only real solution if attacked. -

Wow! No file versioning?
Microsoft, I feel embarrassed for you. You are so far behind you competitors. If it wasn't for the hold you have with your office suite you would be out of business very quickly.

We really need this now. How about an update on when function is coming? We got the new Tesla Crypt that got past all our security. Looks like almost all security: https://www.virustotal.com/sv/file/5a79fa596b2d413607ea327d764598315c987b6df828cfb1dab3153e030ec843/analysis/1455130596/ and if you can't restore, then OneDrive is really no backup...

I just moved to OneDrive from Dropbox. Then I learned about the lack of versioning for all files. I am going to reinstate my Dropbox account because of this. This is a BASIC feature that should have already been implemented.

When will this be available? The competition already offers this...
I was just in the process of moving over EVERYTHING to OneDrive. I'll stop now because without file versioning, the risk is too great. -

Same here, only reason I'm still using Dropbox and also recommending Dropbox instead of OneDrive.

"Lack of file version is the only reason why I am still using Dropbox." Same. $10/month for Dropbox compared to $7/month for Office 365 Personal. Great deal...but version control for all file types is super super crucial for storage right now. Has saved my life many times.
