Allow any folder to be synced
Currently if you want to sync files they must be saved to \users<username>\OneDrive. This is way too limiting!!! Need to be able to define any folder in any path to be a synced folder.

Understand the request, but there are no plans for this at this time.

I cannot believe what I am reading ! do you really you have to put everything into a ''Onedrive'' local folder to get it to sync ... I just want to select the folder to sync not have 2 copies of everything on my system. Is this right ??? please check ....

Onedrive is quite beyond my comprehension. I am not and do not want to be a software expert. I wan tot solve my problems and Onedrive isn't doing that, its just creating more. Ive got two alternatives, why would I use Onedrive?

Even Android apps can do that!
We're in 2016 and still no proper desktop app?!
If you can't implement this, you could outsource the feature. For things like these is because Apple is becoming more popular every day.SHAME ON YOU MS!!!

I believe you just removed the functionality. I had a folder on my 'data' drive, suddenly all data it is copied to my system drive (and conveniently for you) renamed "Onedrive", it was still called Skydrive before. Quite a stupid move if you ask me.

Seriously, no update? I just got a free 200GB of Onedrive space with my ISP... will not use it at all because of this one feature. Basically pointless product in my opinion. Going back to my 5GB Tresorit secure cloud drive instead. Wake up MS.

and I don't get why you closed votes on this. You don't want to know how much your customer want this? This is weird!

This is not about changing the local folder. This is about being able to sync arbitrary folders that are not located in the OneDrive folder itself. SugarSync does this out of the box.

A few Folders I pulled up to view after latest update Samsung G6) read that it was unable to view at this time, or the format wasn't compatible. I haven't seen a "format incompatible" in a couple years now, and the files contained newer(last 6-7 months) material saved. I kinda needed to view these things it's why I kept copy..I THOUGHT

Without being able to specify which local folders syncronise to which remote folders, OneDrive is just a toy - Like all MS Software which presumes you as the user are stupid, and store everything in the folder Windows made for you.
Why not try mega.nz - 50GB free storage. You can specify a list of local / remote folders to sync, as well as how much internet bandwidth should be used for doing that, if you want to limit it.
I'm not going to waste my votes.

This needs to work just like MegaSync does. It's real simple. I build a list of folders on my computer (or network) to sync with my OneDrive account. For each one of them, I specify which foldr I want to sync them with on OneDrive. Ideally, the OneDrive side should also include chared folders for syncing things like Family Photos. (also, allow each link to be optionally specified as one-way - meaning someone else manages the content and I only get a replicated copy.)

What do you mean? How?

you can already change the local folder.

So that if something is added inside the folder, it automatically uploads to OneDrive.
Reasons: Users may have multiple partitions and so, the "C" Drive may not have enough space to keep files.
