Remove (Hide) Files from "Shared with Me" view
Allow removing/hiding files and folders from the OneDrive for Business "Shared with Me" view.
Some shared files and folders are unwanted or obsolete , so it should be possible to remove/hide those.
This feature has begun rolling out. You can select files in your Shared with Me view and remove them. The file will still be available from search should you want to retrieve it. Thanks!
What if you can't select the file? I can see the box, but no check appears when I try to click it.

I still can't get the Delete option for deleted files. I still get the Error 404.
I give up on this.
Dropbox and Box are far superior. Microsoft should not bother with this product if they are not serious about it.

Someone here has shared a folder with other users, then deleted the original without first unsharing it, so the link (now 404, of course) still remains in the other users' "Shared With Me" view. They are unable to remove the deleted folder from their view.
Is there any way to fix this yet?

Your solution marked "boom, it's done" is NOT the solution. I want to make folders within the "shared with me" drive. Sorry, I'm not happy. Come on, someone at Microsoft should be able to come up with how to do this.
I still cannot delete or hide Shared with Me files.
Would someone help me find remove / delete / hide button or menu to remove shared files at "Shared with me" ? I still cannot find it. Are there anything I should do to see this feature ?
Thanks! I was able to remove files for a couple of days but I don't see that feature anywhere now. Help?

OK, I stopped showing a subdirectory and now I want to restore it to the "Shared with me" list. How is that done?
Thank you! Next step would be to give the users possibility to manage and sort shared files into folders. A most wanted functionality among teachers, I'll tell you ;)

AWESOME! Folks in my small company will be using OneDrive more now! Thanks.
Thanks so much for "Boom - It's Done"-ing this! Much appreciated!

this is crazy
several people mistakenly shared dozens or 100's of files with me, and I can't find anything now
JC Please share the steps!
Just saw the possibility of deleting files in "shared with me"!! Waited long for this option.
This should have been a feature since day 1. I get at least a tech support call a week asking how to "unshare" or hide a document you no longer want in your Shared with Me folder. User's Shared with Me folders are getting very cluttered to the point of being unusable.
any solution other than calling the author to remove?

Why this wasn't thought of beforehand is a mystery. There's nothing to prevent me from making a file called "!!!!!I HATE YOU, YOU ARE TRASH.docx" and sharing it to whoever I want, leaving them with what basically amounts to a title header telling them they're trash every time they view their "shared with me" files.
When a one drive folder of file is shared it has to do with the permissions of the file. The file resides somewhere other then in a Shared folder of onedrive.
All you need to do is right click on it and select "Share". On the next screen remove any people you don't want in to see it and remove the link the "Anyone with this link".
I realize this might be even more tricky, but a way to not just remove & hide the Shared with Me files, but also a way to organize them on the end of the person being shared with. I have so many files and folders that have been shared with me, it's difficult to find what I want/need easily in the current view. Maybe a more short term solution would be the ability to "pin" files/folders in the Shared with Me view for quick access?
I am glad that this you guys are working on it. We are getting the same request from Teacher and Administrators about removing old files and folders shared with them.
