Remove (Hide) Files from "Shared with Me" view
Allow removing/hiding files and folders from the OneDrive for Business "Shared with Me" view.
Some shared files and folders are unwanted or obsolete , so it should be possible to remove/hide those.

This feature has begun rolling out. You can select files in your Shared with Me view and remove them. The file will still be available from search should you want to retrieve it. Thanks!

This is really a critical capability that we need to have added to 365...and "The Google" lets you do it, so I think Microsoft should, too! :)

I find it difficult to find important files in Share with Me because I cannot organize these files. Also, I cannot access these files from my desktop (since they don't belong to me). I would like to be able to hide or remove those I don't need and organize the ones that I do into folders where I can find things.

Please PLEASE allow us to control the OneDrive for Business "Shared with Me" folder so that it can be cleaned up at the end of each school year.

Some files / folders are obsolete. What is even more frustrating, some of the individuals who shared the folders / files have retired / left the system and cannot be removed. The ability to "remove" them from the "Shared with Me" view would be extremely appreciated.

As a teacher, I was excited about students being able to share files with me. Then the end of my term with the students came and they left. I went to "Clean out" my shared with me folder and discovered I couldn't. I'm no longer excited. I have around 130 students per nine weeks, 4 terms a year. My "Shared with Me" file would be useless and completely disorganized. I had to have students stop sharing files and start sending them to me through another program.

This is a must have!! Why are we forced to have possession files that we don't want? In education, we share docs all the time and eventually, we need to clear these out.

As a teacher who uses the 365 program with 150 students a year, I would really appreciate the ability the delete documents that have been shared with me.

Schools use OneDrive for sharing purposes, this is a necessity. It is absolutely crazy that we are not allowed to manage files on our own OneDrive.

Rather than removing them, what we need it to be able to filter and sort them, etc. Here's why this feature is important - my boss has taken this to the extreme:
Shared with Me is currently like a Facebook feed with no filters. It is populated by an unending stream of documents shared at the whim of others, with no ability to filter them. My boss is so irritated by it, that he has started telling people to remove his name from shared documents. So, there you go. Until this is fixed, I and my coworkers will be prevented from using OneDrive's sharing features, because my boss is put off by the clutter.

I'm also a teacher and have dozens of files shared by students that I don't need anymore. I need to clean house for next year!

Teacher here - DESPERATELY need this feature - even to be able to make my own organization of them. There's no way to move or rename or delete them, and the recycle bin that's visible does nothing. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add this feature - much more important than any other possible update you might be working on.
Really - if this doesn't become possible, the work around becomes "use google docs" - it's a deal breaker for collaboration.

We are awash with old or obsolete shared document short cuts in our shared with me folders. Once document is no longer required the owner should be able to stop sharing and all traces of the shared document should disappear from the shared with me folders of those with who it was shared.
This is a priority issue for us, thank you. -

Teacher with hundreds of students needs a way to organize items in "Shared with me". One huge list with 300 links is not very usable.

Honestly, how difficult can this be to fix?? It's a massive data protection issue because currently the only way you can remove the files from view is to delete them!
The only reason this isn't getting more votes is that everyone assumes the feature is there. They are all deleting the files to remove them from view not realising what they actually doing. The owner doesn't even get notified that their files are slowly being deleted!

It is unbelievable that this feature was not automatically available when this product was launched. In a school setting, this is quite a problem. Please, please, please ask more people to vote for this. Microsoft really needs to give this issue the attention it needs.

even if the option to remove or hide files from the "shared with me" is not an option. at least allow us to be able to manage this with sub folders or some other organization.
in education this is a real issue.
