iOS Camera Roll Backup Bug
Not all of my images/videos in my camera roll are successfully backed up in OneDrive for iOS even though I have the Camera Roll Backup feature turned on and the status says "up to date".
I ended up having to copy all the images off my iPhone to a PC and do a folder diff with my OneDrive CameraRoll folder. What I found was occasional photos taken between Aug 2014 an Jan 2015 were not present in my OneDrive Camera Roll.
Before manually finding the differences, I was able to visually spot some missing photos in the OneDrive app. I tried signing out and even deleting and reinstalling the app to see if it would pick up the missing photos, but it didn't.
Please fix, it was very unnerving to think I almost lost photos by deleting my iPhone Camera Roll because I thought it was all backed up to OneDrive
Hi, folks. We know about this issue and are working on it. The best way for us to help you is to have you send feedback (and logs) directly from the app. You can shake your phone or send the bug report through Settings / Help & Feedback.
I can only help you to delete the photos from iPhone.

Uploaded photos from iPhone X to OneDrive and it reflects in details a 1/1/70 date?????? What the ****? Now my sort is all out of whack . . . .

Turn on the auto upload. If you are syncing your IOS and PC, this can take a bit the first time. Some people say it uploads the oldest first; I watched and there actually seems to be no reason for the order - I found them populating any way it wanted.

I have used Dropbox for years. No issues. I thought I would give OneDrive a chance, but this is a real problem.

I can't find camera roll to change it so my photo's will upload when I take them and also get photo's that didn't upload like it should.
Why are videos showing up on the Onedrive iOS Photo tab (located at the bottom)? I am also getting "updated photos" taken more than two years ago showing up in this tab two days ago. I didn't even take these pictures with my iPhone! This is really frustrating. I tried changing the Camera Roll folder, reinstalling the app. Still the same. These anomalies do not appear when I access Onedrive online, only in the app. Also, why can't I designate a specific folder for my camera uploads?

God I give Microsoft so many chances -- I want you to do things well I really do. But this app -- yikes.
Compare scrolling through years of photos quickly to google photos and it's like night and day. Now I find that random photos aren't syncing with no reason why. I'm a paid 365 user and googles free service does it better? Yikes
Yep, I have the same problem on both an iPhone and iPad. Takes forever to backup. The problem started with the last onedrive update. If not solved soon - I will look at other options.

I'm trying to save videos from my one drive to my phone and after it says downloaded and saved its not in my camera roll? How do I fix this please help!
I have this problem as well. I've found that I can force the photos to back up to OneDrive if I go into iPhoto, select the missing photos, and use the "share" feature to add to OneDrive. As iPhoto is preparing to send them, OneDrive will notice they're there and start backing them up, so you can then cancel the add to OneDrive in iPhoto. It's annoying, but it's a workaround... I really hope this gets fixed soon!
Got the same problem... Trying to find the photos that the iPhone app claims have been backed up to my OneDrive.
So 'up to date' backup doesn't really mean after all?
As this has been broken for 2 years, isn't this plainly misleading users, giving false confidence?
On the strength of that incorrect report customers myself included, deleted files from their device not realising some had not been backed up at all.
So back to google I'm afraid....
Shame, as apart from this major issue, OneDrive personal is excellent.
Unfortunately before discovering this bug I recommended it to quite a few friends who trusted my judgement...

Here it is 2017 and this problem still exists! What is Microsoft doing?! My photos were taken 2 weeks ago. I first tried to update it a few days later! My software is up to date.

I have the same problem on a regular basis. It says it's uo to daye but 15-20 photos won't upload. All taken with my iphone!!
lots of people seem to have this problem.... I have an iPhone and a Windows 950xl. I also have a Surface 2, Surface 3 and a Dell E6410 laptop. All of them run One Drive. All of them do what they are supposed to do except the Dell. New photos from either phone go to One Drive in the cloud. The Dell local "One Drive" is not getting the new photos from the iPhone. It is getting new photos from the Windows Phone. Pictures taken with the iPhone are showing up in the local Camera Roll on both of the Surfaces. Soooo I think the problem is something on the setup of the Dell. All programs are up to date One Drive etc...... I love One Drive please get this fixed or send me a new surface book to replace my Dell, I know that would fix the problem!
Why don't you re-open this up? Here is the stance from support
"If the pictures are old then OneDrive has a feature to upload the file manually. If the picture are too old then they might not get uploaded automatically as OneDrive has the limitation that it might not automatically upload the file which are too old to OneDrive."
It needs to go back to the dev team.
