3rd Party Backup Integration
Create APIs for 3rd parties (CrashPlan, etc.) to implement backup of all files that are stored in the cloud.
I absolutely love the ability to store so much in the cloud and be able to pull in the things that I need to a given device. It leaves me with a very big sinking feeling, however, that I have all of my eggs in one basket. Eventually, it gets to the point where pulling that data to your device only to back it up to another cloud service is simply no longer viable. I think the best option, then, is to instead implement the ability for a cloud-to-cloud backup, the ability to incrementally back up all of your OneDrive files (for me, really, all of my files!) to another back up service that has integrated with APIs provided by OneDrive for that purpose.
Such an ability for me would seal OneDrive as truly a nearly perfect cloud storage AND backup option and would set it apart in my mind as the absolute market leader in that field. For me, this would blow Windows 10 out of the water (with OneDrive being so easily baked in) by making storage loss an issue of the past. I think this would also push OneDrive to become the market leader for storage and backup, regardless of OS--as all of this data is simply stored on the cloud and backed up on the cloud. Simply select a storage option for back up engines that have integrated in (with a possible easy-to-set-up default) and know that your cloud is not only accessible from anywhere, but that if something goes wrong, you have the back up that you will need.
Looking forward to a solution like this. I love OneDrive for storage--but to fully get me on board and feeling comfortable with my data, there needs to be a fully-integrated backup system for my cloud as well. Data for me is everything! :) Thanks, team!
I currently use CloudBacko PRO for system images but I am looking for some software to do document backup(with advanced feature so i can go back 5 or so days if file gets corrupt etc).
