Store OneDrive offline files on SD card on Samsung devices
-adjusted the title-
Ryan, there is a separate topic where you said this was working, it's NOT for any Samsung users and probably others!
You seem to be ignoring that thread, titled,'Allow OneDrive app on Android to be moved to SD card including storing offline files'.
Could you please comment here, or at least back in the other topic, so all of us still actively using it get some feedback as to your progress on solving the problem on the most widely used mobile platform in the world (yes there are more Samsungs than iPhones)?
I am attaching the threads from just the 1st page of threads from that other topic. Jeff
We shipped support for installing the OneDrive app on an SD card for certain devices, but any files taken offline still go to internal storage.
Given that the OneDrive app is preinstalled on many newer Samsung devices in primary storage, it’s not possible to be moved to the SD card.
Are there any updates on this issue yet?

App is of very limited use without the ability to store offline file on sd card

Many apps such as Google Play Music and Spotify are able to store files on external storage and both work on Samsung.

Version 5.30 last updated April 21, 2019 does NOT have an SD Card storage option
Apparently OneDrive Android 5.90 has this feature. Are there any plans to make One Drive Android 5.90 available to Android devices?
There were news stories in early 2018 announcing the release of OneDrive Android 5.90 Apr 18, 2018 available in the Google Playstore. What happened?
How long must we wait. A massive SD card in my mobile to put all my OneDrive data but no can do. Strange way to run a service.
Keep getting updates for OneDrive and each time I hope, but disappointed every time.
Also in the APP under settings there is never an update then selecting- what's new, of anything new, despite the promise that new features will be shown here.

Need this function real badly... any update on at least a time frame for this?
This is really a necessary addition to OneDrive.
What is the time line to move offline files to SD card?

I can't even find a way to install onedrive to SD, before offline files even become a concern. There's no option for it anywhere.

SD card for one Drive would be very much appreciated. Support may have been shipped on 1st Feb, but as if 16th Feb it is not an option on my Android phone. It is probably not possible to store the App on the SD card as this stops the widgets from working, but it should be possible to use the SD card for file storage. I have a number of other apps that do this just fine.
Just found this thread. Same issue on Galaxy s9+. Everything says it is storing on external but it is only placing offline files on internal. Very frustrating.

OneDrive and by default OneNote, can't store offline files on the SD card of my Samsung Tab E. Other Office products have the ability to give permission to write to the SD card so it seems the OneDrive folks need to catch up. I hope this gets fixed. I can't believe developers at Samsung and Android hate their customers so much they make using the SD card so difficult. Makes you think they wish they worked for Apple.
Anyone any ideas here? I use onedrive on a samsung 7 phone. In "apps" it shows as using 5.88 GB internal. I have 1 small file which I keep on the device. I also use the useful onesync app to keep my onedrive music (many more GB) synced to my SD card.
So whats in the 5 GB or how can find out or get rid?
OneDrive to save offline files to SD card still not working 5.20
OneDrive to use SD card for storage STILL not working.

i also have tested it on Lenovo Mobile and i5t did not work for me.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (Android).
I specifically signed up for the Microsoft Home Package because of the great 1TB OneDrive storage. It saves me the headache of trying to setup camera sync on all of my family member's phones using various 3rd party apps. However, we are now having difficulty because ALL photos simply sync to ONE folder. Some of us are happy snappers that like to "folderise" everything. This causes massive duplication of photos for those in the family that are 'technologically' average skilled.
It would be great if we could have the Offline sync to SD card because then we could simply move our photos to our OneDrive folders, and then sync those folders as Offline folder, back to our phones.
Not sure if the above made sense, but I strongly support this thread and I hope that the OneDrive team at Microsoft can come up with a solution really soon!

On my Galaxy S9 there isn't an option to move OneDrive to external storage (just clear data and clear cache). Is this feature now discontinued?
OneDrive to use SD card for storage STILL not working. Wait and wait for an update and then told by MS fixed and thread closed. Not fixed and we who would like to remain MS users are ignored.
It looks like MS employ people who want to destroy MS by loosing all their users by making their products unusable?
Same. The Onedrive app is set to "External" and everything looks like it should work, but the when folders sync, it is using internal memory. Samsung Note 8 running android 8.0 oreo and Samsung experience 9.
