Sort photos by date taken not date created in OneDrive
When sorting photos by date, the app sorts by date file was created in OneDrive as opposed to the date when the photo was taken.
When looking Photos menu, it list files by upload date or date created in OneDrive, from the user perspective, the date uploaded to OneDrive it's absolutely irrelevant.
This has been around since before 2015, isn't it time to change how Photos menu lists the content or at least give user the option to choose?
This bug defeats completely the Photo menu purpose, the one place to see all your mixed by date pics!
Cannot.. This is the beautiful **** about One Drive. Take your photos off and never look back. Their support teams don't know what's going on as wrll
I have just loaded 10,000 photos from my phone to one drive but I can’t see how to sort them into date order. It is just showing all photos taken on todays date in all years or files of locations. I just want them in date order as per my iPhone order. How do I do this please.
All they need to do is pass the date taken tag over to their mobile app.. I am on their beta app so I can always see their new version right away. But still not fixed! I can see that date taken is passed for images and. Mov format but Not MP4

Same thing is happening to me. All the photos are correctly sorted by date taken on the onedrive website but they are sorted by date created in the onedrive app. This has to be an easy fix on their end and I'm shocked this still hasn't been fixed by Microsoft. Please Microsoft I beg you to just add the tag for Date taken and call it a day!

I agree more than 100% This makes no sense as it is at the moment!! I left google and i pay Office 365 and go all in with microsoft. I use also Bing i stead of Google Search.... but OneDrive Photo organization is the bigest **** i ever see on a online Photo Tool. It's absolute unusable for Families. Also the fact, that every single Temp File , Screenshot or thumbnail from every place outside the Photo Drawer is viewa le in the library is absolutely stupid. I just want to organize my family Fotos and not everything else !
Simply the mobile app is missing the date taken tag from Mp4 files only. I have confirmed this on Android and iOS. It has the tag on one drive web.
Has anything been done here? I am trying to move over from Google and I have no why onedrive is not a me to read the exif data and sort the media correctly via take taken. In addition, not sure why you need to have min 10 pictures in order for the 'this day' feature to show memories. Even 1 pic is a memory over 10.

This is quite annoying.
I added tags to photos in my main image library and copied them over to my One drive so I could share them and suddenly all photos comes u as if they were taken the same day.
I found this out when the "memories" were created
The memories function was loved by me and my family but at this point all photos seems to be from the same day and same year :-(
I've added some new folder of very old photos last week, and now photos of 5 years ago are on the top of my lists. That's a very stupid things. Moreover, also the 'Memories' created by Onedrive are wrong, because also in this case it's taken the up0load date and not the real photo date.
I Can upload photos automatically from the iPhone but the dates changes to upload date. How far out is that????
I think it is not resolved till date .. all my picture from last year are now mess up in one drive . They cannot be sorted by picture date taken

I absolutely 100% agree with this. It doesn't make any sens whatsoever to not be able to view my photos ordered by its original taken date not by the random upload order. It's killing the experience for me unfortunately.
At least you should give the option from a menu for different sorting (as you do on the Files section)

Exactly the same problem here. Some photos appear in the month of the upload date (not all, that is strange). I never had this problem with Google photos. Please Microsoft fix this, so photos are in the order of date taken!
Exactly - I do agreed! It’s so irrelevant with sorting by date for upload in OneDrive.
Please give us possibilities to choose photo’s assorted in date for create date of the f

It doesn't make any sense.
And the automatic albums created, use this upload date.
This is something so small to be a open bug yet
I fully agree. I do not get the full benitof what i pay for using onedrive sinece the photo is not in correct date order in onedrive. Please get this solved. Also all my jysr migrated picture from ios is in wrong order. And my thousands of holiday picture is in wrong order.

Agreed! As someone who love Apple and has and iPhone and Mac I've just made the jump to OneDrive and whilst there is much to love the layout of the OneDrive is painful and iCloud and the Apple photo stream and layout on IOS devices is far more user friendly. If you can sort the OneDrive app to reflect the layout of the desktop you could become king, or queen!
