Sort photos by date taken not date created in OneDrive
When sorting photos by date, the app sorts by date file was created in OneDrive as opposed to the date when the photo was taken.
When looking Photos menu, it list files by upload date or date created in OneDrive, from the user perspective, the date uploaded to OneDrive it's absolutely irrelevant.
This has been around since before 2015, isn't it time to change how Photos menu lists the content or at least give user the option to choose?
This bug defeats completely the Photo menu purpose, the one place to see all your mixed by date pics!
This^^ Please fix
I could not agree more.
Why should anybody be interested in the sequence OneDrive uploads the files.
As a user I would like to the the pictures in the order they where taken.
I get that sorting by date taken can be done under "files" and on a local PC with sync.
But the "photo-view" really need a better sorting option - so far I can see no choices are available
Should be a quick-fix
This is important to me, too.
In addition the app behavior is different from the OneDrive Web interface where, instead, it correctly shows the photos sorted by taken date and not date created in OneDrive!
Also, the video are shown in the wrong order!

Sorting on mobile should work like web or desktop app. The mobile sorts by EXIF Date Taken, and if its not available such as with screenshots it goes by when it was uploaded.
It should instead sort like how the other platforms do, perhaps by date modified?

I prefer to have the photos/videos sorted by FILE date, not date taken. The current version sorts by date taken, and it's frustrating because it's nearly impossible to change the date taken meta data.
Interestingly viewing photos or images via the files tab seems to work OK in using the embedded EXIF data if available, then defaulting to the created/modified date.
MS should introduce a sort mode like the Web View to select date taken, modified, etc.
Agreed that the current method is completely useless for viewing photos by date taken.
MS should fix this ASAP as most other Cloud providers have a product that works.
