When photos are uploaded automatically, there should be an option to organize them within folders of month or year, like the apple app
Currently on the android app when photos are uploaded automatically, they all go into one folder and that folder is not able to be changed. This results in the user having one huge file with tens of thousands of photos with hundreds of GB. On the Apple one drive app there is an option for photos to be organized into months or years. It would be great if this feature could come over to the android app.

This is necessary even for performance. After tens of thousands of photos, overdrive gets extremely slow in displaying the flat folder.
How friggn long does it take to get this function? you did it on IOS so what the heck takes so long to place this on Android. And btw, there are many, many users on Android!

It should be like onedrive integration for Samsung cloud... On Samsung devices onedrive keep the photos in their respective folders..
So much easier to manage.
On my OnePlus 8 (app onedrive version 6.28 beta 4) I have the option to choose "organize per year and month" but I can't select the option... So it still doesn't work...
Is it an option yet?
it is insane that such a BASIC feature is still not a thing!
this has been requested a million times over the last 5 YEARS!

It has been almost 2 years. Why have they taken so long for this simple feature that is already available on iOS?
How is this coming along?
This was brought up in 2019 and is still not an option.
When we will get this update

You guys have been working on it for 7 months now. Just let us sort our camera upload, this shouldn't be an Apple-only thing.

Don't suppose we've a timeline on this one, Microsoft?

I want to easy find, filter and sort my pics by date, location and other obvious criterias. It is extremely unaccaptable to have thousands of photos in one folder!!!
I recently switched from an iPhone to a Surface Duo, and suddenly my photos are no longer organized into years and months. This feature was added to iOS back in 2018. How is it still not available on Android?!

Sync app is doing that. www.sync.com

OneDrive on Android upload pictures and organize them in folders based on year and month the same as iPhone does.

Además poder organizar las fotos en la aplicación para Android, por ubicación y poder hacer búsquedas también por fecha o ubicación
there is another same feature ask ranking one. Separate request dilutes votes...
This should be pretty straight forward "feature" to add to android, or more like ensure feature parity between OS. :(
It's crazy that such a critical feature is missing from the android version. Makes me question my choice of cloud service.
I changed from iOS to android and want this feature back too...
