Please add the ability to sort albums by photo date taken on iOS & on OneDrive.com. Currently if you update an album by adding a photo or create a new album with a date taken from a previous time, it will only sort the day the album was updated. If this is done often, it can be very difficult to find an album on an iPhone & in my opinion the album view does not look good when dates from much older years are mixed in with current or almost current years. Thank you.

I actually have problem with the opposite issue to the commenter below (dated 2019-03-22), my photos are NOT displaying in date taken order despite preserving the image metadata. The fix for BOTH these issues I think would be to use EXIF date-taken information as a priority over file created but if date-taken was 1970-01-01 (YYYY-MM-DD) or EXIF data was missing, use file created date.
Or simply provide two sorting options, one for date taken (probably using the logic above) and one for date file created.
I have the same issue on iphone and ipad. Photos are sorting via their exif data instead of there file metadata, ie: creation date. I have hundreds of scanned photos with no exif data and they all display at the top dispite being scanned several years ago. To test this open the problem photo in OneDrive and view the file properties. You will see there is no information listed in the date created field. No compare a photo that is listed correctely and you will see the date information listed. This issue could be simply fixed by OneDrive analysing the file creation date properties instead of assuming every photo has exif data information. This is basic stuff and the fact that Microsoft has not picked up on this is concerning.
This needs to be fixed!!! It sorts correctly in the Pictures app on Windows, but not on OneDrive.com and IOS app.
