Allow HEIC to JPG conversion when uploading
I used to upload photos from my personal iPhone to OneDrive so I could open them on my work computer running Windows 8.1. With the update allowing HEIC I can no longer open them. It seems my options are to open the app to take pictures, allow all of my personal photos to be uploaded, access pictures only through the website, use a 3rd party converter, or find a new app to get my pictures on my computer. It would be nice if there was a setting to return the app to the old functionality.

Need to roll back option that auto convert HEIC to JPG via upload. Even I converted pictures into JPEG, the original photoes which taken by iphones always exsit with HEIC format. Then the next time I reinstall the OneDrive on IOS, it still uploads HEIC pictures again !
So give back the options PLEASE ! -

The other option is to disable HEIC if you're facing problems. This will force iOS 11 to store all images as JPEG. You can disable HEIC from settings > camera > formats

When uploading photos one should be given these options: (1) upload both jpg and HEIC; (2) covert to jpg; (3) Keep HEIC only. Or just tell Windows/OneDrive users they shouldn't be planning on taking photos on an iphone.

This is very frustrating. Trying to have people across the country upload photos from their phone and they are all HEIC. Terrible update to the app.

Same problem here, it's ridiculous. Please, you guys at Microsoft are surely smart enough to fix this issue

Same issue as others. I just uploaded 75GB of photos to OD and now I cannot even view most of them them on my Windows 10 machine. This is really ridiculous and now I am starting over agin for a photo storage solution. It will NOT be OD if this doesn't get fixed.

Abslotely! The tech supporter suggest me to use a third party app to convert heic. So if I converted heic by another application, why should I need OneDrive?
Applications convert heic can also support cloud drives either! -

Please add a switch in the OneDrive iOS App to choose if upload heic or jpeg - very important.
It’s not an option to change in camera settings of iPhone, because there you need heic to save space.

PLEASE add this function back! I know you can change the default format on iPhones back to JPG (Most Compatible), but a pre-existing library of HEIC photos are of no use when they are uploaded to OneDrive!

"There appears to be a fix for this on iphone settings.
Settings> (I searched camera up the top) Camera >Formats> change from High Efficency to Most Compatible".I tested both of these settings on my iPhone 8.
Trevor's suggestion did not work for photos which were already HEIC. Such photos did not upload to OneDrive, despite having the Photos app setting for "Transfer to MAC or PC" set to 'Automatic'.
The only way I could get them as JPEGs to OneDrive was take the photos in 'Most Compatible' i.e. JPEG, format, by applying this setting in the Camera app settings, as suggested by Di. -

Impossible - that was the worst decision from Microsoft. We really need this feature at OneDrive app, not in the phone.

Super frustrating that we can view phone images on a PC. Please give us the option to upload in Jpeg format.
