Separate folders for each device backing up to the camera roll
If you have multiple devices that would take advantage of the camera roll there should be an option to put them in separate folders. IE if you have an android phone, ipad, etc each device should be given the opportunity to use a subfolder (Camera roll\ipad and Camera roll\android)
We’re interested in improving the experience for users of camera upload to OneDrive. Looking at better ways to organize and structure the files is an important aspect. No other updates right now.
Please give status update!
I also need folder options for backed-up photos, besides 'Camera Roll'. In my instance, I am 'sharing' a onedrive folder with family, while I go on a trip. I want the pictures to go to the shared folder (but I do not want to share my Camera Roll). Waiting for wifi or paying for data service in order to perform File Management, at the same time the photos are syncing anyway, while on vacation, is a rather archaic thought, given the potential convergence for convenience.
Also, I am headed to Android at the end of this year, if Microsoft can't get the Mobile Platform back into mainstream utility. I have long complained that Google's Calendar performs searches, and Onedrive's does not. At least I will have a more useful calendar again . . . sadly . . . I mean, what happened to the excitement of continuum? I am so bummed with Microsoft Mobile.

This needs to be completed.
Since storage is not free anymore now, a service like this would be most welcome and expected.
Requested feature: seperate folder per device for CameraRoll, preferably to be able to assign folder manually. Alternatively: auto-detect device and assign folder, but then please give a choice if you want to store seperately or not.
Thanks for implementing this asap. :-)
Whats the point of selling the multiple device plan if you cant keep them separate anyways.

18 months later?
This really messes up things for me as I have several devices and it throws them all together.

as a Senior Developer in huge IT company I am really aware of that some things need their time before they bubble up through the company or department hierarchy and down again to single developer who has this requested feature finished like in 2 hours and I have of course understandig for it but in this case this is just an absolutely crazy example of big IT companies incompetence and arrogance and especially how you treat your customers.
Do you really mean it that from feature request until go-live there is a gap of 2 and a half year? Are you actually aware that by doing this you show to every customer in the world that you dont care about them immediatelly after they buy your product?
Allow me one more question, do you guys actually implement in onedrive department some lean agile method..like scrum, kanban, XP..is that ringing a bell? I dont know but my department is able to release our software once per week..I do not know about you...have you ever heard about DevOps kind of way/thinking?
I really think that you do not understand at all that by doing all this here you show every day to each customer using onedrive on daily basis how obsolete, outdated and archaic Microsoft in reality is. You could really learn a lot from younger and better companies about the development and realease performance and also about agile thinking.
At least for Microsofts onedrive department it looks like customer is really not at the center of business, am I right?
Best regards and have a nice day!
Has this even been fixed yet?

Still no solution? it can't possibly be that hard...
This should definitely be possible, moreover, it should be customizable as a path name.
The upload path currently depends on the language (e.g. En: Pictures/NL: Afbeeldingen/DE: Bilder).
If you are a non-native english user (which many millions of us are), and you'd have windows in English, the camera upload directory name will be different for each language you use.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The same of course holds for automatic screenshot upload.

It's been 2 1/2 years since this request was with nearly a thousand votes on UserVoice (probably far more if you add duplicate entries on this same topic). More than a year ago, Douglas Pearce, a Microsoft Group Program Manager said "We hear you and we're starting to look at this." How many more years will we have to wait before Microsoft will do something to clean up this mess created by jumbling images from all one's devices into a single Camera Roll folder?? If you want to keep camera roll flat, then at least tag the photos with device and original folder name.
It should have folder structure to identify which devices I am using and there content, and allow to change structure like say sorting by devices, sorting by file types, sorting by dates, sorting by locations etc
1. also if I''m uploading pictures from different folders of my android 6.0 device can they uploaded AS different folders. Right now they're all stuffed in camera roll follder of my skydrive.
2. there's a folder that we cousins share. can i share my photos on that folder without MOVING pictured to that folder like different pictures can be added to different albums without being moved from original location?
Still thinking, Microsoft?
Please start doing something.
If its tagged, we could filter witch device to show. All in one place, but the opportunity to filter witch device we would like to see photos from. Please.
The photos should automtically be taged with the phones/device name.
i have 17,000 files in camera roll please microsoft...

Is it possible yet?
Or maybe automatic folders per Month (atm I have hundred of files in one folder)
Douglas Pearce > Any update on this topic? I currently have 3 phones and 3 tablets taking photos. It would be nice to assign a different folder for each device.
