Windows 10 Mobile Camera Roll Upload Issues & App Issues
In summary: fix the OneDrive app and Photos app so it resembles the features, functionality, and UX we had with the Windows Phone 8.1 versions. Right now, with CAMERA UPLOAD, thumbnails of our photos are NOT visible, filenames are NOT visible, and it is cumbersome to 'find' out if our photos and videos are being uploaded.
This relates to the current build, as of 11/28/2015. Support told me to post this here when I emailed.
With Windows Phone 8.1, we saw...in the photos app...when our photos were being uploaded, and if there were any issues. We also got to see the file name and a thumbnail of the photo to be uploaded (or which had issues being uploaded).
Now in Windows 10 mobile, the process is entirely broken. There is no way to see...in the photos app...that your photos are actually being uploaded (or if there are issues). You have to know to go to the OneDrive app to discover this (once again, not intuitive for most users...we expect to see this in the photos app). Now that you are inside the OneDrive app for Windows 10 mobile, you have to figure out how to find the camera upload page. From there...nothing...there are generic "placeholder" images for photos and videos and absolutely no file names. If there is something wrong with an upload, you have "NO IDEA" what photos they are, and if you want to 'clear' them out.
Finally, the OneDrive app...and uploads...is completely a mess in W10 Mobile. In the Photos app and OneDrive app...there were two completely differently "views" of what was in "OneDrive". I was under the impression that many of my photos were not being automatically uploaded. I discovered, through www.onedrive.com on the web, they were all actually uploaded, yet the OneDrive app showed they were not (nor did the Photos app).
Wow...a lot of work needs to be done for such a core feature that worked perfectly fine in Windows Phone 8.1. Not sure what you all are doing in Windows 10 Mobile, but it is seriously broken at this point. Sure hope you can fix it. Thanks!
