The modified date on folders is not correct. I have subfiles and subfolders that were modified and synced after the modified date showing.

Not being able to easily tell when a folder's contents was last updated makes any clean up very difficult. Also, the My Files folder list should be presented in the order of last changed when page is loaded....not the date the FOLDER was created. That is not useful information.

When a user clicks on 'file' and 'open' in any MS Office application, the recently opened files is displaying old files as being recent dated year 2097. The actual modified date of the file is showing in file manager as 2009. This is inconvenient in that you can't see what files you opened recently in the list.
I manage Office 365 for multiple clients and for a while now I recieve a lot of questions about incorrect timestamps and spontaneous deletions. Microsoft support is less than helpfull as they also seem to be oblivious how this can happen. I am quite done with pointing the finger to a user-mistake, so I hope Microsoft will release an official statement about this very soon.

Right now in my OneDrive recycle bin, there are 35 files that where deleted while I was asleep last night between 1:09am and 4:57am. These files where all under the one workspace directory for a project in development. Obviously, I did not delete them as I was asleep. No one else has access to my OneDrive.
The best part is that two files did not exist until around five hours after the displayed deletion timestamp - I created them this morning sometime after 9:30am!
Again, I did not delete them. I need those files for my code to build.
I would be very important to fix this issue, it is confusing that folder dates are not consistent.

This is a big usability issue for us, especially since most of the folders have the same date - the date we migrated to SharePoint. If we're adding/updating files within a folder we expect the folder modified the date to be updated too so the stuff worked on most frequently is at the top of the list and stuff we barely touch is at the bottom. This is how it works in Windows Explorer.
My issue is with the creation date being changed. I looked through this thread and can't believe it is 2 yrs old and the issue still exists. Please fix this as it is causing problems not only with our backups but our billing also
Why would adding content to a folder change the folders modified date? The folder it its own Item. If it was created on Date x and never changed thats the date for that folder. If it was modified on date Y thats the modified date of that folder.
The content of the folder has its own modified date. Why would item A (the folder) represent the date from item B (its content)?
I find this bug very frustrating and am still hoping for a fix...
Modified date on a parent folder should adjust when sub-folders or files are modified.

Suggestion: Microsoft PLEASE fix this issue on OneDrive.
This is not a difficult fix.
Why is Microsoft ignoring this ?
Answer: Maybe Microsoft does not care !

And it's still not fixed 16 months later!

LOL Microsoft is becoming a joke with their outsourcing. It will catch up to them soon when people get tired of the issues and begin taking their business to Google which seems to get stuff right.
I for one am done paying for office 360 and dealing with wrong dates, wrong names, and broken features like "move" a file which is impossible on new OneDrive app but you can delete the file. I'm told this is a new feature but it's working correctly on old 4.26 app.
Oh well, time to cut losses and move to google cloud.
Microsoft, this is a massive issue, why are you not responding?

It's over a year later and they still haven't fixed the issue.
all office files on Andoid one drive app show wrong modified date no matter how much we modify them. I have been submitting bug reports on this for months and quite simply, THEY DON'T CARE. I'm at a point where I'm looking for a new place to move all my stuff and stop paying Microsoft for their outsourced software that no longer works 1/2 the time. Also, their new Android OneDrive app no longer allows moving of shared content only delete. This is another bug they refuse to fix. Another one is if you add a shared folder to your local one drive and rename it, the app renames it back to original name in the app but still same name on the Web Portal. You can no longer rename it in the app as it doesn't exist and you get errors.
After months of constantly trying to point this out even with 2 phones side by side one using older app and one using the 5.x app they consistently give me the runaround or not even reply.
Then where are we?
Agreed. Need to fix this, not that difficult right Microsoft?
Agreed. Modified date on a parent folder should adjust when sub-folders or files are modified.
