Better management of files located in and syned with personal vault
it is unclear whether files placed in the personal vault in OneDrive are synced with files on my PC or not. I consider my personal PC reasonably secure so would like to be able to flag files in "MyDocuments" folder to be synced in OneDrive to the Personal Vault. This would leave the local version of the file on my machine, allowing me to open it without having to unlock a vault.
I can anticipate this happening one of two ways. either allow individual items to be flagged and synced with the personal vault in the cloud offering the protection of files located in the Cloud, or the second way would be to have a local mirror of the personal vault synced to my computer where i could open files without having TFA.
What i have seen to date through the file explorer is a shortcut to the vault, but it is only online, which means if i don't have internet connectivity, i cannot access the files. this is great for files in the cloud, but is problematic for files located on my local computer which are shared by multiple members of my family. if i have my laptop in the car and need to access a file where i am not close to a wifi point, i do not have access to the files. I can move these files to a "non-synced" location on my computer, but these sensitive files are just the kind that i would like to have additional backup/protection
I was told that a mirrored copy WAS on my local computer, but found two problems. First, if i disconnect my internet, and try to get to the files, i am alerted to the fact that i cannot reach OneDrive, which supports my understanding that files in the vault are only in the cloud, and even the tech person i talked to who said that the vault was synced to my local HD indicated that gaining access still required me to authenticate.
