Enable differential sync (only sync parts of the files that changed)
Today OneDrive implements differential sync only for Office files (that is, syncing only the changes made to the file, instead of the entire file). It would be a significant improvement for this capability to work against any files in OneDrive - so smaller changes to a file would result in less data needing to be transmitted, meaning less time to sync changes back and forth, and more efficient use of network bandwidth.

We have completed the rollout for both personal and business users. Enjoy the better syncing!

Ridiculous that this has not been implemented yet... everyday I upload 2GB PST file just because I got 2 new emails in my outlook inbox..

They promised this feature (in the 2017 roadmap) and haven't done yet... That's disrespectful to customers. Not worth subscribing to the paid storage.

Enable it for all kind of files!
It´s braindead not to use this. -

Is this even actually getting considered? 4 of the top 5 requests in the feedback are about improving sync functionality and nothing has been changing in the released version in 4 years. No differential sync, no lan sync, no duplicate sync, no sync for mobile, nothing.

Above it states that differential sync has been implemented for Office files. Does this mean it should already work for Outlook PST files?
Anyway - Agree this should be a must for all files - makes absolute sense...

I just found out that I chewed up all my bandwidth and reached my data cap, because I had a program running which was located on the desktop, and it created and regularly updated a very large log file. This log file exceeded 30MB, and was being uploaded every single time it changed...I assume the entire thing.... I have never used my entire 1 TB of monthly bandwidth until today.

Completely ridiculous that Microsoft has not implemented this, considering Dropbox has been able to do this for years!!!!!

Nothing on this? It's a huge headache sync the entire file when you're using EDGE 2G internet...

This was on the Q2 roadmap for OneDrive, but it's now Q4. Do you have any update to this? Differential sync is a very necessary feature.

As long as the so called delta sync is missing, OneDrive is no option. Dropbox supports this for many years now. If you're using truecrypt/veracrypt container, always the full size has to be transfered. No chance with a 10 GB container :(

October, 2017: I'm glad to FINALLY have files on-demand back, but I've been waiting for incremental sync even longer. Any updates?

Actually this feature is supported by Dropbox and one of the main reasons because a lot of users I know don’t like OneDrive (many don’t know technically why by they say sync is dramatically lower in OneDrive).

I'd really like to see this implemented. Would really help when working with large CAD files.

This would be really helpful for me as I have a very limited data allocation each month (50gb) for all of our household (Broadband not spot) using a very expensive provider satellite system. Currently sync'ing my one drive has to be regualted to periods where I take the laptop to a public library to use their alloaction.
Being able to sync where only the changed files (all of them) are updated would mean we can have an up to date one drive.
Please do give it some serious thought; I cannot be the only one with limited access -

Does this actually help much in binary compressed formats such as a docx/jpg/psd/pdf etc? It would work great on an XML or TXT file but not sure if that is all that important now.
