Let user customize the folder icon
Let user change the folder icon as it used to be in Win 8.

Customizing my folder icons would be great, it allows me to personalize my organizations folders aimed at a target audiance. Please consider this, it's a great idea.
all microsoft needs to do to make this possible is either enable uploading the desktop.ini in onedrive, which contains folder icon and other information per folder, or add antoher way to recognize folder preferences like having a desktop.json file where desktop.ini should be, containing the icon information, tooltipp and so on.
the status-mini-icons like if a folder is saved locally or cloud only should still be overlayed on the custom folder icon.
I have dropbox and the Icons are the same.
It would be great if you can have the option to change the icons. Even if it's just the color. Something that can make it distinguishable from Dropbox...
I am using Windows 10 enterprise evaluation edition.
Previously on windows 8.1, there was no green check mark on folders being synced by Onedrive, and there was a blue syncing mark only on folders not yet synced by Onedrive, which was acceptable.
After upgrading to Windows 10, all icons of folders being synced by Onedrive has ANNOYING green check mark, and I couldn't find an option to manage this.
I was able to get rid of them by deleting every onedrive-related key in below registry addresses:
But after I remove those, Onedrive asks for a permission to install itself, and if I allow it, those keys appear again, so I am currently not allowing Onedrive to do this.
For me, Windows 10's design is pretty appealing, but I can't still trust designers in Microsoft unlike Apple, so I devote a lot of time customizing appearances.
Please indicate if there is an option to do this without destructive means. I would like to do this by all means.
Please make is happen. I like to custom icons for my folders
