Allow OneDrive for Business folder to be renamed
The main OneDrive for Business folder cannot be renamed, apparently because the path for syncing would break.
This is limiting and becomes very confusing for employees when sharing files with colleagues, as SharePoint creates folders with the same name in the computers. People don't remember which is theirs and which is shared.
Thanks for the suggestion.
This is just crazy ... very short sighted by Microsoft. hard coded folder.
I have 3 accounts for different people in my organisition and they are called
COME ON MICROSOFT .. FIX THIS ... NOW
This is one of the main reasons I remain with DropBox ...
It's been many years, still there is no change.
Seems that leaving OneDrive is the best option.
I cannot use several tools in ondrive because of that "-" and spaces in the company folder name.
My workaround is to copy and paste the information back and fwd to work directories and Onedrive directories.
Please add the rename option

Creating a name with " - " creates havoc on a number of tools that can\t handle this foldername
My users are scared to use the OneDrive for Business in Windows Explorer because they see the company name and think that everyone has access to it.
For goodness sake Microsoft, we're only a small business but not being able to re-mane is causing all sorts of confusion and security fears. Get on with it - listen to your users!!
This is a basic feature that MS's competitors rolled out long ago. This is one of the reasons I told my company not to adopt this.
Idea first shared in 2015. "Thinking about it" in 2019. Problem still not resolved in 2020.
Seriously, why has this issue not been addressed yet?
It is very difficult for users to tell the difference between OneDrive Personal, OneDrive Business, and Sharepoint library folder in the file explorer.
I found very capricious the idea of NOT allowing to change this name. It makes the work confusing and cumbersome when you need to have two personal OneDrive (for example, if you have a family plan and also have a company plan). Although there is a distinction (different associated mail accounts) the use of the same name and icon promotes confusion.
Please incorporate this. Please.
The whole idea of how OneDrive chooses where to place the files and how it keep track of what is being synchronized is completely wrong.
Just an example. I can't choose the name of the directory created by OneDrive. Some how, it crashed and lost what I was synchronizing. Now, it asks me to sign-in and by doing that, it wants to use another base directory, so the files I was synchronizing are not considered any more. I can change the path, but I have no control of of the name of target directoy!
More. What is the base idea of putting all the synchronized directories in only one place without any change to organizing it? This is so stupid! I have tens of synchronized folders and it is a mess to find anything.

This is ridiculous.

Having spaces in drive name is a terrible idea for those who use Windows Subshell for Linux

As long as this feature isn't available for my clients, I setup Google Drive for them...
Have run out of votes on all the other onedrive for business path issues. Please re-architect the lot, and help us stop the steady river of calls about this to our support desk.
