Allow OneDrive for Business folder to be renamed
The main OneDrive for Business folder cannot be renamed, apparently because the path for syncing would break.
This is limiting and becomes very confusing for employees when sharing files with colleagues, as SharePoint creates folders with the same name in the computers. People don't remember which is theirs and which is shared.
Thanks for the suggestion.
The Rick Stockton solution only works if you have Admin access, which is usually true for a very small percentage of the company users...
I suggest for now to look at https://onedrive.uservoice.com/forums/262982-onedrive/suggestions/9281949-allow-renaming-root-folder-onedrive-folder

I just got some great technical advise from Microsoft on this: Here's what I did:
1.) Got into my Office365 Admin and change my company name to a [much shorter] acronym.
2.) Exit OneDrive on my PC. [Right-click OneDrive icon; Exit]
3.) Log out of Office365 portal.
3.) Sign back in to OneDrive on my PC.
4.) The OneDrive sync folder now uses the acronym instead of the old long company name.
4a.) OneDrive now syncs all of the files from the cloud down to the new location on the PC.
5.) Got back into my Office365 Admin and changed my company name back to the [and much longer] full company name.
I rebooted, and the change appears to be persistent, but I will have to repeat this procedure should I choose to 'Exit' OneDrive.
It's worth it, though, and I love it.
I can suggest you with one software and that is "Ahsay backup" as i am using this software for my business use , So try it out. Many new softwares i have tries like acronis etc but i guess according to the speed i would 9/10 marks to this software. Use it.
Please allow the renaming of the folder which OneDrive for Desktop syncs to. I would appreciate the ability to store my sync'd folders/files in a folder with a different name other than /onedrive. Here is my usage scenario:
I am trying to move the onedrive folders of two users of a single desktop PC to the secondary raid array for backup. I would like the paths to be D:\ONEDRIVE_USER1 and D:\ONEDRIVE_USER2. The way it is currently implemented I would have to use: D:\ONEDRIVE_USER1\onedrive and D:\ONEDRIVE_USER2\onedrive.
This is not ideal and I'm sure other users can think of many ways the renaming of the "sync" folder to something other than "onedrive" would be useful. Please consider fixing this limitation.
Currently when you add a link folder to the onedrive apps, it will create a subfolder call "onedrive" and start to sync the file in there.
If only it just use the folder we put as the link folder and start to sync there.

The left nav root shortcuts for "OneDrive-Personal" and others in File Explorer, please let me rename those.
...or at least make it the same in the Mac and Windows versions of the app.
