implement 2 way sync on mobile
Definitely for Windows Phone/mobile, whatever its going to be called now, one drive needs to have a 2 way sync where you can setup folders (such as music or pictures) to sync both up and down. As it is now on the phone it manually syncs photos one by one to OneDrive but if I delete something from my camera roll I have to delete it from OneDrive separately. This should be optional, and have options for sync only over Wi-Fi, but would be a great function that would bring back the windows phone 7 Zune client sync functionality.
I couldn't agree more.
It's nearly 2 years since this original post and no progress that I can see.
On android, I used a plug-in app called onesync to designate folders on my phone's internal memory of the Micros SD card to sync with onedrive. This was full 2-way sync and amongst other things, by directing my camera roll save location there, allowed me to keep all photos in sync and editable either on mobile, web or desktop.
I was also able to use this functionality to keep articles, papers and other documents I needed access to offline, available and in sync seamlessly regardless of the source device.
It's also much quicker to move a file to a sync directory on a mobile device and let the sync happen in the background, than navigate through OneDrive menus which lag due to the web connection.
Microsoft, please bring 2-way sync to mobile natively because independent developers are simply not working on your platform to provide workarounds for gaps in functionality!
