  1. Make OneDrive Known Folder Move user based instead of machine based.

Since OneDrive is user oriented it makes more sense to be able to set certain GPO settings on a user level. One of these settings would be Known Folder Move (KFM). Currently the settings for KFM are set in HKLM\Software\Policies\OneDrive.

This makes it almost impossible to make this setting apply to users that don't have an existing folder redirection GPO in place (since the setting is set for the machine, and not the user).

In our environment we want to apply the KFM folder setting to users that don't have an existing folder redirection to their home-drive.

  3. Clear files on folder after unsynce.

It really great if it has option to clear all files in folder PC while users unsynce from server.

  4. Allow external non-Office 365 Business users to sync OneDrive Shares

Please allow external users who don't have a OneDrive for Business account (i.e., users with a personal OneDrive account only) to sync shared folders to their local computers. We can already grant edit access to external, personal users, which works fine through a web browser. Also, external users with O365 business accounts can sync our shares. But the combination is not possible: external personal users can't sync. This is FORCING us to drop OneDrive and go back to DropBox, which supports this seamlessly even in their free service.

While better not to constrain the size/amount of syncable files based on…

  5. Auto Check-Out / Check-In file types that don't support Co-Authoring

It would be great if the OneDrive Sync Client could be instructed to Check-Out any file type that doesn't support native co-authoring (i.e. DWG). At the moment, checking out a file is a manual process that must be performed on the web. while this does prevent file conflicts as any other user is restricted to opening the file as Read Only, it becomes an untenable option when someone is opening up a large number of files simultaneously (i.e a CAD drawing with a bunch of xrefs).

This doesn't only impact AutoCAD of course, it would be a good option to…

  6. Save files to OneDrive via a URL

I wish I were able to copy and/or highlight a URL for a file, and be able to have that file saved to OneDrive (via a right-click option on the menu)...

  9. Feature: Sync metadata - file attributes

    // Redirected from: https://github.com/OneDrive/onedrive-explorer-win/issues/1

Would be really useful if OneDrive sync the associated file attributes such as; hidden and read-only flags (at least these basic ones), and expose it to the API as well.

Currently, if you have a read-only or hidden file on a device, after syncing it loses those attributes on the other (except for the timestamp).

  10. Show the files to be deleted when asking, "Remove files from OneDrive? You recently deleted 272 files from this device."

Show the files to be deleted when asking, "Remove files from OneDrive? You recently deleted 272 files from this device." Do you want to remove them from OneDrive too?"

I am getting hit with this question a lot, and I want to be sure the files to be deleted are safe. There is currently no way to tell other than restoring all the files, which could be sporadically dispersed around my hard drive.

  11. Auto backup USB memory sticks / portable hard drives when you plug them in if you enable it

When you plug in an external storage device it would be great if it automatically backed it up to a USB file on OneDrive. That would mean that if I had left my memory stick at home but had plugged it in last night, that I would have my files on OneDrive.

  12. Map onedrive as network drive

it will be great to have the possibility to map onedrive as network drive to your PC

Which will help to save time and data in your PC, because as you Sync the files take times and also consumed your memory

I hope allow this feature ASAP

  13. Use simple cache size limit slider for OneDrive

Instead of selective sync in OneDrive, why not just use a simple cache size limit slider. "Store X GB of the most recent accessed files. My Space Monkey works this way and it works great. 10GB of the most recent files are cached locally, everything else in the cloud, pulled down on access, and then cached locally. Manual local cache override by file (pinned) as needed.

  14. LET ME DELETE ONEDRIVE BECAUSE I HATE IT

Omg do I hate onedrive. I have NO CLUE how to get rid of it but all of my Microsoft Office programs defer to it. It's the worst. When I want to back things up online I use Google Drive. Not Onedrive. Mainly because Google isn't always in my effing face about it's cloud program. I JUST WANT TO UNINSTALL THIS and still be able to use the Office programs for work. I want to press ctrl + S and be able to easily choose the file on my computer in which to save documents. Whatever your little system is…

  15. Allow filtering of files/types when using known folder redirection.

Allow filtering of files/types when using known folder redirection.

Know folder redirection currently syncs everything in the users desktop (as expected), including user specific application shortcuts...

Now that Microsoft is moving a lot of their productivity applications to user based installed (VS Code, Teams, Yammer) those shortcuts are sync'd between systems even if the apps are not installed. This makes for a bad user experience with lots of orphaned shortcuts on the desktop. Any shortcuts deployed via a GPO also get sync'd and start causing duplication conflicts. At this point I would just filter out .lnk files entirely....

    Thanks!

    Dewayne

  17. Application design

I am sorry to say but the new design has not improved the experience as it should have. The hamburger menus is still there which is annoying. I should not have to explain this to a design team. But here is the thing. Android does not have any menu other than the hamburger menu where all options are stacked. Windows phone has the '3 dots' menu already. Adding the hamburger menu makes it confusing and more importantly look like an android knock off. We windows phone users are disappointed. Please fix it fast!

  18. password protection

There's a four digit password on my OneDrive app that secured access to my personal files. But I just came across the online album option in Photos that doesn't require the password to access my OneDrive photos folder by folder. That kills the privacy. Also, the password on OneDrive stays on Windows Phone app. Written synced with laptop, there's no password there. My files are free to view. No logout either. Please fix asap. Privacy is always the top concern.

  19. choose folder to backup

Going to be blunt here, can you guys introduce option to select any folders user want to backup to OneDrive (instead of just 3 Documents, Desktop & Pictures folders) if not introduce "Backup entire PC" to OneDrive??? Like what Google is doing with its Backup and Sync app?

I have 1TB for OneDrive however it lacks the option to backup my entire PC. My personal files are separate from the normal User folder as it is located in D: drive instead of C:\User\xxxx

  20. Export/Import Sharepoint Document Libraries List for computer replacements or store setting online

Export/Import SharePoint Document Libraries List for computer replacements or store setting online. In case of a planned client replacement, end-user will not find synchronized SharePoint Libraries on the new computer (less than ideal user experience)
