  1. Personal Vault access via MacOS just like Win10

Loving the new feature as it is a great idea for the more sensitive files I keep on OneDrive, however I have both Mac's and PC's and can now only access the files in the vault on my Macs from the web version of OneDrive. The data should be accessible from the native file system just like on Win10.

  2. Bring the Choose folders option back in the OneDrive syncing setup

I am referring to this MS site where it says that choosing the folders before the setup process is done is available (and it used to be!): https://support.office.com/en-us/article/sync-files-with-onedrive-on-mac-os-x-d11b9f29-00bb-4172-be39-997da46f913f

Even when using Files on Demand, it takes a long time to setup OneDrive when you have a 160 GB folder. Choosing what folders to sync was a helpful step in this process.

  3. Option to speed up video speed

I have some long videos but there's no feature to speed up/down those videos in OneDrive.

  4. OneDrive for Mac Files On-Demand show as using up space on the Mac flash drive

When looking at my storage usage on my Mac it says "233GB available of 500GB" which is correct, however the visual storage bar says I am using 489GB of storage space within my "Documents" - this is because of OneDrive. Even though Files On-Demand is turned on and the majority of files are not saved locally, the Mac thinks they are. Can this be changed?

  5. Ignore files and folders from sync

Can we have a decade old idea to ignore some files and folders from sync?

    e.g. .gitignore or .nosync files

  9. Command or plist to report current Sync status

We need the ability to determine the current sync status of OneDrive on our fleet of macOS clients. Using a client management platform (eg. JAMF, AirWatch etc) we would like to determine the current sync status using a script or reading a plist. We can then notify our in-house support team of OneDrive sync issues, so we can proactively assist users.

Could the current sync status be written to a local preferences file or accessible via a command line query?

    Command Example:
    /Applications/OneDrive.App/Contents/MacOS/OneDrive /synstatus

    returns on the following:
    Ok
    Syncing
    Paused
    Error

    Preference file Example:
    defaults read com.microsoft.OneDrive.plist CurrentSyncStatus
    returns…

  10. Support for MacOS 10.15 - Catalina

Due to Apple's new privacy and security measures in the Mac OS file system in their upcoming version 10.15 Catalina. OneDrive can no longer function properly due to no longer having full access the the drive despite enabling full disk access in System Preferences. OneDrive will not be able to locate the main folder due to the 10.15 now having two separate volumes by default. One is for the MacOS system files and the other is your data drive. I'm not sure what other problems are causing OneDrive to not work but I hope it is fixed before 10.15 is…

  13. Lockable folders by PIN

Most of us don't need a Personal Vault - we just need variable levels of access to folders. That's the way we run our Mac Server. Can you please provide this feature without triple authentications, text messages et al. Just a PIN will be sufficient.

  15. Allow to sync folders outside the OneDrive Folder

Allow to sync folders outside the OneDrive Folder. Would be very useful to be able to choose any folder in my computer to have a backup in the cloud or at least use a symlink to back them up.

  17. Turn Files On-Demand comes on and when turning Off, onedrive tries to sync everything. have to re-figure out what i needed synced quickly

Sometimes Files On-Demand turns on and has to be manually turned off. When turned off onedrive tries to sync everything when I only want the synced files i had before. Have to manually go through and recheck the files i need and have to do it quickly so extra files are not removed and then re-downloaded.

Eats up data while working from home.

  18. onedrive made my Macbook to an always-on fan monster!

onedrive made my Macbook to an always-on fan monster!

although there are already a lot of posts, microsoft still is not reacting on any of the posts. otherwise they should have found a solution to fix this issue making cpu/fans that busy! really unbelievably ...
... but this is microsoft (as it has ever been, just do own stuff and never listen to paying customers, etc.)

  19. Clear notification when there are sync issues or when OneDrive is logged out

So currently if OneDrive wants you to login again there is no prompt that will ask you to login again. People are only notified by the X symbol displayed on the OneDrive icon in the menubar that something is going on. People can work for a week before they even notice something is going on with their OneDrive. Same goes for sync issues. People need a better indication with what is going on with their OneDrive.

  20. Date modified

Fix the OneDrive sync client for Mac so that the date modified column accurately reflects the time the folders were modified in OneDrive on the web after folders are imported from external services (e.g. Box). At the moment, the date modified column in finder represents the date the folder is created locally on the Mac - not the date it was created/modified in OneDrive (web).
