  3. Please allow the choice of folders to sync during program installation.

If your OneDrive is nearly full and 1TB like mine, you dread having to install OneDrive onto your Mac as all contents from OneDrive will download to your computer automatically as a part of the sync feature. Only once everything is downloaded you can then change your settings to which folders you wish to choose to sync, and then everything "returns" back to the cloud freeing up that space you lost. How is it that we can't get it right the first time during installation and just choose the folders we want to have synced.

  4. Enable automatic disk space cleanup similar to storage sense on Windows

Enable OneDrive to automatically remove files from local drive when they haven't been used for a period of time, or when the storage is low. Similar to how it works on Windows 10 with Storage Sense.

  5. Allow OneDrive to be installed on a case-sensitive file system

I saw answers from dev team saying that this won't be possible because of the solution proposed. I will make it very simple for the dev team: Keep the Windows file system nomenclature, meaning if some special chars are not compatible between MacOS <-> OneDrive, then simply say that the name can't be used.

We (Mac users) understand that there are filename length limitation on OneDrive. Just apply the rule to the OneDrive in MacOS saying that a name can't be over 100 chars.

Finally, for the case sensitive issue, let people save their file in macOS using case sensitive,…

  6. Files On Demand causing problems with saving in other Office apps!

This issue has been raised in the different Office app discussions, but most users don't realize it's being caused by OneDrive.

Normal Save As behavior is: you open a document, click Save As, and the dialog shows the folder you just opened from.

This is critical for workflows where documents are opened then saved as new versions or client names or etc. All the Office apps functioned normally until OneDrive rolled out FOD on Mac.

What's happening now is: you open a file and click Save As, but the dialog opens the last folder any OTHER file was saved from…

  7. Allow user to choose which OneDrive Sync folder is the primary (computer or Cloud).

Two issues (syncing options and deleting folders):

Allow the individual to choose which OneDrive Sync folder is the Master folder either the computers folder or the Cloud folder.

Instead of the two merging and bringing over extra/duplicated/deleted files (due to a lapse in syncing) it would be nice to be able to tell the system that the computers folder is the primary and vice versa.

    DELETE FULL FOLDER:

Also Let the user be able to delete a FULL folder instead of needing to delete the files > the folders they are in > the folders those are in plus files…

  8. Syncing and preferences should be user friendly

When we install OneDrive for mac it would be nice if we could choose our preferences and on-demand files before it syncs everything. and we cant choose our preferences when syncing. And if we switch from on-demand to on or off.

  9. make one drive sync over cable

I have 4 devices: Mac Laptop, Windows on Parallels, iPad and iPhone. It would be nice to be able to sync all of them over wifi w/o having to upload and download from the internet 4 times!
This would have the following benefits:
    1-speed of update
    2-avoid draining metered connections quotas
3-the cloud is still single source of truth but parallels, osx and iOS update automatically from the home computer all the files that are not changed vs the cloud
4-avoid clutter on slow internet connections

Remember that not everybody travels at 1GBPS especially when in travel mode, public wifi…

  11. Move Syncing Locations Window to Prominent Location

Instead of placing this very important feature on the Accounts tab in the Preferences panel, the folders or files I'm syncing should be displayed prominently in a window that's accessible from the menu bar or contextual menu. And, please, please, make the window re-sizeable.

  13. Configure Teams library for automatic synchronisation

Within the GPO on windows you have the possibility to pre configure the sharepoint sites that you want to add to the onedrive client when a user has access to it.
This option should be available on a MAC OS client and then within the Plist file for example. this will be a big imporovement in enterprise environments that are using a MAC in combination with Onedrive

  14. OneDrive not working on macOS Catalina

Since Apple introduced macOS 10.15 Catalina, OneDrive Mac app stopped working. It could be a privacy issue, because the app doesn't found OneDrive folder on Mac.

  15. FILES ON DEMAND -DO NOT KIDNAP DOCUMENTS!!!!

Something changed in the last week or so and One Drive has been "updating" to this "Files On Demand" which is essentially taking away the system I set up - where I could access all my documents offline on my computer and online at OneDrive.

It has methodically been "updating" hundreds of thousands of documents - and locking up my entire computer to do it - and changing them to cloud only.

So every time I want to look at a document, it has to access OneDrive, download the document, process the document, and then, finally, open the document. This…

  16. Clear notification when there are sync issues or when OneDrive is logged out

So currently if OneDrive wants you to login again there is no prompt that will ask you to login again. People are only notified by the X symbol displayed on the OneDrive icon in the menubar that something is going on. People can work for a week before they even notice something is going on with their OneDrive. Same goes for sync issues. People need a better indication with what is going on with their OneDrive.

  17. The syncing should be more faster. Many time there were delays.

Syncing should be faster. Many time there were delays. The delays are annoying! I hope the syncing can be more accurate and faster.

  18. Choose Folder Window Too Small

Is it possible to increase the height of the window where you select the folders you want to sync/turn off. Maybe the option to manually click and drag to make the window bigger.

  19. OneDrive needs to add auto sync customer selected folders in Mac!!!

I manually drag the folders to my OneDrive to back up my documents in Mac every single day!! It's 2020, everyone else has auto-sync already. Microsoft you'd better hurry up or all loyal customers using Mac will gradually leave your cloud base services!
