  2. Allow the mac version to install OneDrive folder at removable disk

A lot of macs have expensive and limited SSDs and it would be convenient to be able to put the OneDrive folder at a external drive.

  3. Allow OneDrive for Business Sync Client to recognize domain-bound Macs in the Enterprise

Allow OneDrive for Business Sync Client to recognize domain-bound Macs in the Enterprise.

Our company recently adopted the OneDrive for Business (OD4B)next generation sync client. As part of this adoption our internal Information Security team has set a security policy allowing only domain-bound workstations to leverage the OD4B sync client.

We are binding our Mac workstations to our corporate domain, just like our Windows workstations; however, Microsoft has told us that Macs are not truly bound to our corporate domain -- they are simply "associated" with our domain meaning our Mac workstations fall outside of this domain-bound security policy. This…

  5. Personal Vault access via MacOS just like Win10

Loving the new feature as it is a great idea for the more sensitive files I keep on OneDrive, however I have both Mac's and PC's and can now only access the files in the vault on my Macs from the web version of OneDrive. The data should be accessible from the native file system just like on Win10.

  6. Fix the memory leak in the macOS OneDrive client!

There has been a serious memory leak in the OneDrive client for macOS for over a year. There are multiple posts on the OneDrive support forum about this, and I've made multiple support requests all of which have come to naught.

The symptoms are quite simple - on machines running Sierra and High Sierra the OneDrive client's memory foot print grows without ceasing over time, eventually causing the host machine to run out of memory. See attached image for memory footprint on a High Sierra running MacPro after 7 hours 39 minutes from a cold boot ,with OneDrive (latest version)…

We have been working on several memory leak fixes recently. One of the main ones was fixed with Standalone version 19.086.0502.0008 and Store version 19.103.0527.0003. If you are not on one of those builds or higher, please update first. If you are still experiencing issues after updating, let us know. We will continue to focus on performance improvements, including memory utilization.

  7. Sync via symbolic links

In Dropbox I just create bunch of symbolic links to my Downloads, Documents & Desktop folders so that my stuffs will be safe with me always.

Looking for the similar treatment from OneDrive too :p

    Cheers

  9. Preserving Mac OS X (file system) tags and extended attributes (xattr)

Unless I am missing something, it appears as if OneDrive is not honoring and preserving file system tags (see [1]) or even extended attributes (see [2]).
Granted, these features are difficult to maintain over different OS and file system types. But if files and folders are synchronized within the same environment, it is very disturbing, to say the very least, to see this (meta) data simply discarded by OneDrive.

    Thank you.

  10. Better support for Sketch.app files

We still use Dropbox as OneDrive doesn't play nicely with the Sketch.app files on the Mac our user experience designers use. We'd love to move off of Dropbox entirely and only use OneDrive, but aren't able to until Sketch.app files are better supported.

  11. Enable sync priority

I would really like the option to prioritise syncing for specific files or folders within the OneDrive folder during large bulk syncs. For example, I recently added ~25GB of music. During that time, I made a change to an important document on my Mac, but I couldn't access it on my W10M phone (where I needed it) because it was stuck in the syncing backlog. My workplace uses Carbonite cloud backup, and I know that you can right-click certain files/folders that haven't synced yet and force them to the front of the queue ahead of any others.

  13. Sync Finder metadata and permissions (OS X)

On Mac OS X, documents can have color labels and tags. These are currently not synced across devices using Onedrive. Same for file permissions.

  14. Properly support the macOS file system (special characters, aliases, symbolic links, case sensativity, etc.)

OneDrive is 99% useless on a Mac because the macOS file system is not properly supported:

    1) Files are limited to Windows naming conventions. I't impractical to rename 100's of files to complete a sync

    2) Aliases get copied as unusable files and symbolic links are ignored.

    3) If the drive is formatted as one of Apple's/unix's case-sensitive formats, they're unusable with OneDrive.

These are the deal killers, items like support for tags, etc. would be nice also.

  15. Icon for sidebar in finder

Dropbox and iCloud have dedicated icons for when they are placed in the finder sidebar. When the one drive folder is placed there, though it has a custom folder icon inside the finder window, it reverts back to a standard folder icon. I suggest that you find a way to make this be the actual one drive icon.

  16. Stop forcing OneDrive folders to Favorites in the Finder Sidebar

Every time I reboot, OneDrive forcefully places a shortcut to it's folder in the Finder Sidebar Favorites section.
I'd like to have the choice of disabling this.

  17. OneDrive App on Mac - multiple accounts sync

Well the App on Mac OS allows only one account to by sync. Funny enough the same app on iOS allows to sync multiple Office 365 accounts. It should be a no-brainer we need the same functionality on Mac OS...

  19. Support for MacOS 10.15 - Catalina

Due to Apple's new privacy and security measures in the Mac OS file system in their upcoming version 10.15 Catalina. OneDrive can no longer function properly due to no longer having full access the the drive despite enabling full disk access in System Preferences. OneDrive will not be able to locate the main folder due to the 10.15 now having two separate volumes by default. One is for the MacOS system files and the other is your data drive. I'm not sure what other problems are causing OneDrive to not work but I hope it is fixed before 10.15 is…

  20. Allow syncing of files larger than 10GB (e.g. Photos Library in OS X)!

Allow syncing of files larger than 10GB (e.g. Photos Library in OS X).

I was disappointed to learn that the reason my OneDrive never leaves "Scanning Files" in OX X Yosemite is that OneDrive does not support files over 10GB.

I'm frustrated, because I paid to upgrade my storage amount so I could use OneDrive to backup my Photos Library in OS X, since I use OneDrive for all of my personal backups/syncing.

This seems like a simple request!!!
