Allow the mac version to install OneDrive folder at removable disk
A lot of macs have expensive and limited SSDs and it would be convenient to be able to put the OneDrive folder at a external drive.
Thanks for the suggestion.
just discovered this as I was about to transition from dropbox - fortunately I hadn't switched dropbox off yet. This is a show stopper...

Seriously? This is the stupidest limitation i've seen in a while. While we're at it, why not enforce that you cannot use your fountain drink without a straw, the car cannot work without seatcovers, and toilet paper only works in one direction.
Thanks for the chuckle. Give the program manager that decided this a pat on the back for "risk limitation", even if it's a terrible user experience.

just discovered this limitation ... after buying a 256GB SD Card :( Don't like Dropbox as much but might be the straw that breaks the camels back...
OneDrive folder at sd card would be soooo great for me and my mac book.
Please do it for your customers.
It is plain ridiculous that this feature is not available. Everybody is screaming that we need everything "in the cloud" … and not on our hard drives, as it's easy and safe, what results in the fact that nowadays laptops come with small SSD drives. Then some mastermind finds it useful to offer 1TB of cloud space, what is very cool, but it would be way cooler, that people with a small hard drive could use this. So not having the possibility to use an external drive to put the OneDrive folder on is plain stupid. And it is frustrating knowing that all the competitors do offer this feature. And I think I can speak for everybody here, that "Microsoft is thinking about it" is not the reply that we want from an admin. Just add the feature, it can't be that hard, it isn't rocket science ... and even it was, we all assume that's still easy for such a huge company as MS
Woah, this is a massive issue. I bought a 128SD SD card just so I could keep my OneDrive folder on it and now it's telling me I can't? Works fine with Dropbox. This is a bit ridiculous, and is making me rethink my 365 subscription.
Please fix this if you want to keep a customer!

This use to work on my external seagate drive, but last couple of days has stopped working, but even when i try to sync with desk top doesn't allow me to do that either. Any suggestions?
would be a reason to switch to icloud or google drive with my 1TB of data
Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box already support this on macOS. OneDrive does not. There doesn't appear to be a technical limitation here. Many Mac users use external storage and support for keeping my OneDrive on a SD card would be fantastic.
I bought 1T of onedrive yesterday assuming this was possible. I guess I'm returning today....
Please let me sync my files at SD card with OneDrive.
Please add this feature. It's very important for me.
I need this feature also
I don't understand why MS did not allow us to use SD..
I have really come to love OneDrive...this one missing feature prevents me from utilizing it or even using it more. Please help us!
*bump* You did it for the Surface, so come on... get this also work on Mac
Please add this feature.

It doesnt matter if Microsoft does not recommend the install of OneDrive in removable drives. As the initial request stated some Apple computers come with very limited SSDs and thats a huge problem! It should be possible to install OneDrive in removable disk, its a must have feature!
