OneDrive for Mac Files On-Demand show as using up space on the Mac flash drive
When looking at my storage usage on my Mac it says "233GB available of 500GB" which is correct, however the visual storage bar says I am using 489GB of storage space within my "Documents" - this is because of OneDrive. Even though Files On-Demand is turned on and the majority of files are not saved locally, the Mac thinks they are. Can this be changed?
Same issue prevailing at my end. I'm using macOS Big Sur and the problem still persist. Tried reaching out support team of Microsoft but they asked me to write the concern on this portal. It is so frustrating that despite knowing the issue, it takes more than 2-3 years for them to resolve.
This is also an issue for my customer and to this forum https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/one-drive-online-files-take-space-on-macbook/9d211188-bcd7-4afb-888a-9cdca6fb583b?page=2.
The logical file size is not synchronized to the physical file size. Though this is a Mac bug, the Dropbox has already mitigated the issue on their end after the updates they did.
I hope we could do the same.
