  4. Dropbox better than OneDrive

Tried to make the switch from Dropbox to OneDrive on Macbook pro. Was looking forward to saving the money.. but files uploaded so slowly and some folders were empty! So am happily back with my trusted but expensive Dropbox!

  6. Synce Documents, Desktop and Downloads folder on OneDrive on a Mac

I would like to be able to map the Documents, Documents and Downloads folders to automatically sync with OneDrive similar to how it work on Windows 10.

  7. Make it possible for Mac users to put their OneDrive folder on a SD card.

Right now, when I put my OneDrive folder on a SD card (or try to do it), I get an error saying that it is not possible to put OneDrive on an external disk. This would be really nice, since I purchased a flash memory card which goes in the SD card slot (in order to increase the capacity of my computer).

Now the problem is that it is quite useless for me, as I cannot synchronise my data from this disk.

    Thank you!

  8. Make it easier to choose folders for syncing (on Mac)

Setting up folders to sync on Mac was painful for me because all folders in "Choose Folders" were checked by default... I had to go through and uncheck each one. I only sync a few folders because this is my work machine (vs. home machine, with plenty of space, where I'm fine with syncing all of them.)

I'd like to see "uncheck all" and "check all" buttons.

  9. Mac OS OneDrive App updated on 8 May 2018 Keeps Crashing

I have been running OneDrive App on Mac OS El Capitan (10.11.6) for a couple of years without issue. It was last automatically updated on 8 May 2018 via Apple's Mac OS App Store. Today 20 May 2018 when I booted my MacBook, OneDrive app kept on crashing on loading. I uninstalled the app and then reinstalled via the Appstore, and same problem. I used CleanMyMac app to uninstall and remove all associated fiIes, deleted the OneDrive folded and reinstalled, and OneDrive sill crashes immediately after opening. I even downloaded the app via the Microsoft website and reinstalled, and still…

  10. Immediate syncing for shared folders on OneDrive Business

In every desktop file syncing app...ever...you share a folder with someone and it appears on their computer. I "share" a folder on Dropbox with someone and they get it in their Dropbox folder. I share something on GDrive someone and it shows up in their GDrive folder. Box, iCloud, the list goes on. We must have burned an hour of our time trying to figure out why clicking "share" on a folder didn't result in the folder showing up on everyone's computer.
Lo and behold, you have to open the web client, go to the folder, open the folder, and…

  11. Redirect MS office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) to the online version

When I open Word files using OneDrive for Mac, they open as local files, causing me to lose out on functionality that I would get if I had pointed Word directly to the online file (such as the ability to use the Share menu to share the file or collaborative editing capabilities).

Were I to open the same file from within Word by selecting Open, then going to my connected OneDrive account (not the local folder), then finding my file, I would get all of these nice online sharing features.

While I've only tested this with Word, I'm guessing that…

  12. Default Settings for Sharing Links

A User must be able to make a default setting for sharing his/her files. For example, 90% times, we need to share a link which should not be editable and must expire automatically in 7 days. There is no way to configure this. The current way is that a link shared allows editing by default and it does not expire.

  13. Show approximate time until synchronization is complete or the number of files that need to be processed

That's it. Show approximate time until synchronization is complete or the number of files that need to be processed

I have 390Gb on my OneDrive account and I understand that it will take long time to sync everything, but I want to know how much (in terms of time of files remaining).

    P.S. Sorry for my English

  14. OneDrive for Mac (ver. 18.111.0603) don't start on Yosemite (OS X 10.10.5)

When new version arrived, OneDrive client doesn't start on my computer. I have to use older version OneDrive from AppStore. Please fix and let us use latest version.

  15. "Exempt this file."

Exempt a single file, especially when seeing it 'in proccessing' by OneDrive.

Like a dog with a bone, the app/widget will find some big VM disk file that's 8GB, and just start crunching away on it forever.
When I see it's working on it in the list, I want to be able to 'skip for a while.' (so it processes other things), and I want a "skip forever, or never sync this file." button.

"Manage my folders." Doesn't seem to cut it, as I keep exempting that folder and it keeps finding these files anyway.

  16. Add the Sharepoint icon in the sidebar

The OneDrive icon looks great in the Finder sidebar. But the Sharepoint folder just has a regular folder icon. Add the office building icon like on Windows. It would look awesome and would stand out from the rest of my favorites.

  17. Speed up uploading thousands of very small files

I have a local backup of my GMail made with gmvault. It's a folder with subfolders and files amounting to several hundred thousand files.

    1. OneDrive stalls... my CPU starts working at 100% for several hours non-stop. I aborted it.

    2. I decided to try and upload a single sub-folder with just 1000 files. After taking some minutes to process it, OneDrive started uploading them one by one, taking over 3 seconds per file. This makes it impossible for me to upload the GMail backup into OneDrive.

    OneDrive should:

    1. Be able to cope with a folder of hundreds of…

  18. Passcode

Make it fingerprint compatible. Also the only reason I use a passcode is because otherwise there seems to be a syncing issue. FYI

  19. Phone or system backups

Can we expect Microsoft to come up with something like Apple's Time machine kind of backup which utilises the OneDrive as the storage and can replicate something like time machine backup.

  20. Quickly create a sharing link in the right click menu.

One of the best Dropbox features is that I can quickly send a file to a friend. Right click the file, "copy Dropbox link" and I can paste it anywhere. The need to go to Onedrive on the web before sharing anything is shockingly behind the times.
