  1. Make it possible for Mac users to put their OneDrive folder on a SD card.

Right now, when I put my OneDrive folder on a SD card (or try to do it), I get an error saying that it is not possible to put OneDrive on an external disk. This would be really nice, since I purchased a flash memory card which goes in the SD card slot (in order to increase the capacity of my computer).

Now the problem is that it is quite useless for me, as I cannot synchronise my data from this disk.

    Thank you!

  2. Make it easier to choose folders for syncing (on Mac)

Setting up folders to sync on Mac was painful for me because all folders in "Choose Folders" were checked by default... I had to go through and uncheck each one. I only sync a few folders because this is my work machine (vs. home machine, with plenty of space, where I'm fine with syncing all of them.)

I'd like to see "uncheck all" and "check all" buttons.

  3. All mp3/m4a files are automatically downloading when using File-OnDemand

Files on Demand downloads all files in folders that contain mp3 and m4a files. If you even look into the folder to see what is in it, all of the mp3 and m4a files are automatically downloaded.

  4. Mac OS OneDrive App updated on 8 May 2018 Keeps Crashing

I have been running OneDrive App on Mac OS El Capitan (10.11.6) for a couple of years without issue. It was last automatically updated on 8 May 2018 via Apple's Mac OS App Store. Today 20 May 2018 when I booted my MacBook, OneDrive app kept on crashing on loading. I uninstalled the app and then reinstalled via the Appstore, and same problem. I used CleanMyMac app to uninstall and remove all associated fiIes, deleted the OneDrive folded and reinstalled, and OneDrive sill crashes immediately after opening. I even downloaded the app via the Microsoft website and reinstalled, and still…

  5. Set Optional 'Expiration Dates' for Local OneDrive On-Demand Files

It would be super great to be able to set expiration dates within the On-Demand files feature so that, if after X number of days have passed a local file has not been opened, it is automatically removed and reverts back to online status.

If we're using the On-Demand features, chances are we already feel a little tight on space (or know we're going to have to reckon with storage issues soon). Having to go back through an entire directory and free up space per file or folder saves any kind of maintenance until the last minute we when are…

  6. Save as dialog should open the folder in which the original file sits

When opening an Office file from an OneDrive (or SharePoint) synced location and saving it with "save as", the same folder should open up. Just like when working on the local file system.

Currently it opens the Desktop or any other location when doing so.

  8. Avoid mass deletions after restore from Time Machine

After upgrading a Mac disk and restoring data from Time Machine, OneDrive begins deleting many or all of the files on SharePoint. OneDrive apparently does not recognize the files as being the same. This raises the potential for loss of the entire enterprise shared data due to one workstation upgrade. Please consider fixing OneDrive to recognize restored files, or allow the admin to limit or stop deletions from one machine.

  9. Maximum path length doesn't fit to system and OneDrive.com

Mac OS allows paths about 1024 characters. Mac (and Windows) OneDrive client allows only 256 characters. OneDrive.com doesn't have such limit. In modern days 256 characters path is very limiting.

  10. Support for macOS tags

It would be outstanding if macOS tags were supported within the app, as I use them to classify my documents. Thanks!

  11. Redirect MS office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) to the online version

When I open Word files using OneDrive for Mac, they open as local files, causing me to lose out on functionality that I would get if I had pointed Word directly to the online file (such as the ability to use the Share menu to share the file or collaborative editing capabilities).

Were I to open the same file from within Word by selecting Open, then going to my connected OneDrive account (not the local folder), then finding my file, I would get all of these nice online sharing features.

While I've only tested this with Word, I'm guessing that…

  12. Configure Teams library for automatic synchronisation

Within the GPO on windows you have the possibility to pre configure the sharepoint sites that you want to add to the onedrive client when a user has access to it.
This option should be available on a MAC OS client and then within the Plist file for example. this will be a big imporovement in enterprise environments that are using a MAC in combination with Onedrive

  13. Context menu share link - Allow default to "Read Only" (Mac)

Allow changing the default context menu option to create a URL with only Read Only permissions.

By default the link is created with Edit permissions to everyone who receives it.

  14. Show approximate time until synchronization is complete or the number of files that need to be processed

That's it. Show approximate time until synchronization is complete or the number of files that need to be processed

I have 390Gb on my OneDrive account and I understand that it will take long time to sync everything, but I want to know how much (in terms of time of files remaining).

    P.S. Sorry for my English

  15. Large Sharepoint Libraries making MacOS unstable

When adding a large (60gb ish) to Mac OneDrive Client (19.012.0121.0009) we are experiencing instability on the host system (10.14.3 (18D109)) until the library has synchronised even though 'files on demand' is enabled.

The Sync process is taking ages on machines with fast stable internet connections.

  16. "Exempt this file."

Exempt a single file, especially when seeing it 'in proccessing' by OneDrive.

Like a dog with a bone, the app/widget will find some big VM disk file that's 8GB, and just start crunching away on it forever.
When I see it's working on it in the list, I want to be able to 'skip for a while.' (so it processes other things), and I want a "skip forever, or never sync this file." button.

"Manage my folders." Doesn't seem to cut it, as I keep exempting that folder and it keeps finding these files anyway.

  17. Date modified

Fix the OneDrive sync client for Mac so that the date modified column accurately reflects the time the folders were modified in OneDrive on the web after folders are imported from external services (e.g. Box). At the moment, the date modified column in finder represents the date the folder is created locally on the Mac - not the date it was created/modified in OneDrive (web).

  18. On Mac access shared folders/files directly inside Finder.

How can we collaborate between PC and Mac users if on Mac you can't see shared files/folders inside the Finder ? Other collaboration solutions allow it so why not in onedrive :-(

  19. Passcode

Make it fingerprint compatible. Also the only reason I use a passcode is because otherwise there seems to be a syncing issue. FYI

  20. Folder Backup for Mac OneDrive

Please add Folder Backup, just like on windows10 OneDrive to the Mac version, I think there is enough interest, if you read through here, it's just all presented in such different ways, you wouldn't realize that there are enough of us that want this feature. I use both a mac and a pc, and having this feature keeps both computers perfectly synced with each other. I was able to do it myself on Mojave, using an app called MacDropAny, however, this no longer works in Catalina.....
Please add this to Mac OneDrive, I use all Microsoft office365 products on both…
