This 500 MB limit for "Move to" or "Copy to" function seems to be new. In the past, there was no limit and we were always able to move higher volumes. Microsoft: Please fix this urgently!!!

The documentation for sharepoint limits - updated October 2020, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/sharepoint-online-service-description/sharepoint-online-limits conflicts with this 500 mb limits in reality. Is there reason this number was reduced. It is putting a real crimp on driving adoption to TEAMS. We are trying to move folders very large in size to a TEAMS site out of individual one drives. This hurting TEAMS adoption at our company.

We are being forced to redevelop entire company processes and approved methodology in order to deal with Microsoft's new limitation on the copy/move function within SharePoint and One Drive.
Copying and moving large data folders (c. 40 GB) for processing is an integral part of our operations. The 500 MB limit is now forcing us to rebuild our platform, while in the midst of multiple live projects.
Given everyone now working from home as a norm the download/upload becomes even more unworkable as our team members effectively has to stop working while waiting for the up/download to complete.
Microsoft please remove this ridiculous limitation.

This has been a problem for us in Australia for a while.
We also move significantly larger folders on a regular basis between SharePoint sites and we need the metadata and version history.
Having to break the move down into smaller chunks is ridiculous.
Doing the move in file explorer leaves the files on the local PC - and floods the link.

I have seen elsewhere (https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/sharepoint/sharepoint-online-cannot-move-folder-to-a-different-site/m-p/2020633/highlight/false#M47393) that this is to be resolved by hotfix and eventual permanent fix, but one can hardly tell anymore, as I cannot find anything directly from Microsoft on this other than a support call I was on which referenced an old post from 2019. This is definitely a newer issue for us, cropping up in the past few weeks.
This needs to be fixed! We move considerably larger files and considerably larger collections of files as a matter of course.
