Photo Tags
Photo tags have been removed from my desktop One Drive - please please please add this back! I now can't see tags already done (and can't search by them) and then can't add more

I'm just one customer paying for Office 365.
But the main reason I use it instead of Open Office is the photo storage with tagging. For almost a year customer service has said they are fixing the issue and it will be great when they bring it back. I wonder if this is a lie. -

as a new onedrive user I have been disapointed and am seriously considering canceling my premium account and going with another provider. if it wasn't a hassle I'd do it today. nothing but issues with onedrive so far, and not having searchable photos just tops it all off as a subpar service

As a long-time paying customer, I am extremely disappointed. This capability was turned off in Aug 2020. It is reasonable to expect product engineers to provide an estimated completion date or for Microsoft to offer a significant discount on my annual 365 subscription. So Microsoft, what's it going to be?

Tags and search are the 2 features that sold me on onedrive.
The disappearance of this function without notice is a user-hostile move.
The search was supposed to be improved with Bing.
Currently evaluating other image and video cloud services.

Spent hours tagging photos and now useless going forward. Please add the tagging feature back. We have all been patient but will need to use another service if not fixed.
I love OneDive but this is my most useful feature and now its gone with no communication of when it will be resolved. Please add it back Microsoft.

Very disappointing to see OneDrive has removed the Tags function. I bought a subscription to OneDrive specifically because it had this function. I'm just as disappointed that Microsoft has zero response. If you're going to kill tags - which I assume is what it's doing - then just admit it.

The ability to add, edit and search for tags was the most important feature of OneDrive for serious photographers. There is no point in staying with OneDrive unless the feature is brought back.

I have spent hundreds of hours over years tagging my photos. OneDrive is useless to me if I cannot edit or view tags. Please bring it back or I will have to move to another service. I would also like my money back for changing the product I pay for without even telling me and it looks like not admitting it's not coming back.

What's going on? I signed up for O365 in substantial part to find a solution for a scattered collection of photos, now i find there's no tagging option for photos! Useless now, had hoped to spend some time over the Christmas/New Year period to sort it out once and for all. What am i paying for?

I really need this function back. I really don't know how come OneDrive would have bug on this function and just remove it? this totally mess up the organization and searching for the photos.

It turns out that if you try to get support on this from MS support chat bot, then it gives you this...
"Are you having difficulty searching for photos with tags on the web or mobile OneDrive apps? We apologize for this inconvenience and want you to know we are working on resolving this problem as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, users can access OneDrive from the File Explorer or Finder on your computer.
This is a known issue we are working to correct"
Apparently this feature has been missing since at least July and no one has even commented here - really sad how UserVoice is being ignored.

Terrible idea to drop the tagging functionality - it is a must for any photo app.
Agree with the previous comment on abandoning OneDrive and move to Google instead.
This probably means abandoning my Office 365 Premium subscription as well.
Have anyone seen an explanation or reason for this?
On MS support pages they still explain how to add/edit tags...

Agree I spent MANY hours tagging my photos, incredibly frustrated to have lost all that. Please bring it back!

Invested many hours tagging father-in-law's scanned slides with names and places. For a year, it worked brilliantly. I could tag the photos on a PC and have them appear pre-sorted on his ipad onedrive app and the resulting tag 'albums' were easy to navigate.
Loss of the tag feature has rendered Onedrive photos as user friendly as a cornered rat. If this was a product manager decision, then it was a poor one and worth reconsidering.
